Hate to say it but this is the correct answer. Upgraded to PS5 this afternoon and the game went from awful to smooth and fun. Hitting went from f’n impossible to really, really fun. Thanks for the push Chuck.
Is there any other solution besides upgrading, I saved up my paychecks to buy the game and new controllers and it’s super laggy

i say this to everyone with complete respect - of course with the world and finances as they are - back in the day you get a new system if you wanted to play new games - super NES or nintendo 64 = we couldn't get all the systems back then so you just enjoy what you have within that game system - from the OPs subject it seems like finally the game has outgrew the PS4 pro engine - i remember mine used to sound like a jet airplane taking off the fans were going so hard - hope you all have a great day

I'd like to thank all of the frame rate commenters. I still play on an Xbox One. I saved my money and didn't purchase '23. I just downloaded a '23 roster dated around April 3rd (and learned to live with the dates and schedules not being updated for 2023.) I know it's not the same rush that you get from playing a brand new game, but, since I haven't played '22 since around Thanksgiving, the new rosters made it seem kind of fresh (and my Xbox didn't get tossed before I could afford a new one.)
Yep, I was waiting to get it (I always pre-ordered), and playing 22 to scratch the baseball itch, waiting to grab it on sale around June. But having read all these posts and comments, I'll just wait to get a PS5 or wait for 24, depending on when I get it.
I had 1K saved for it, but then my wife lost her mom and favourite aunt within a year, so I'm buying her a trip to WDW instead.

Yeah, I can't wait to get rid of my jet engine too; playing at night I have to crank up the TV to hear it and it's a bother to the family. I use headsets, but sometimes I don't want to have to wear them.

i need to get me one, the pitches drop so many frames is very hard to hit. There are even specific players where it gets even worse! (batters). That Cory Julks TN card literally makes the pitches look like a strobe light coming in lololol.

Mine always slows down or lags when players have the longer hair/beards.

I’m so glad I found this post. I thought my internet or ps5 was bad… I bought the game on disk and had the stuttering issue- thinking it was the disk or disk reader, I sold it back to GameStop for $35 just to come home to buy the digital version at full price again (accidentally bought the deluxe edition AND it didn’t use my $35 PlayStation credits
) so now I’ve spent $135 on one game and was about to go buy the Xbox series X version and completely start from scratch just to see if it works better on series X…. Mine stutters every game I play, more so online than offline, but it does it in all modes. I’m 1gb download speed and 500mb upload-…. Is this a bug then? Thanks -

It’s bad on my 2 month old ps5 with a 2gb cuda m.2 - tried it on console SSD and it’s same. So, it’s not just previous Gen for those following. Also- one thing i haven’t tried is switching my pitching camera view. I usually pitch in Strike Zone so I can see more pitches over the plate… but maybe that camera view has too much going on in the screen causing frame drops… I’ll try that tonight to see if it helps.
