I think pinpoint is fine

It's not about it being hard or easy to master. I have no dog in that fight.
The real issue is that the ball only lands on the very outside edge of the PAR. Never in the middle. That's not how the mechanic is supposed to work.
It's bugged and needs to be fixed. Whether or not it's easy or hard to master, whatever. I just want mechanics to work the way they're supposed to work.

I really don’t want to get in the middle of these pinpoint battles, but I will say that I am converting to analog if something doesn’t change. I used analog for the first time today and it was leaps and bounds better than PP when it comes to online play. That is without any practice other than a few offline innings before the game. PP doesn’t seem to have too many issues for me until it is online.
If the argument has been that PP was an unfair advantage, then the tables have now turned.

I’ve been hearing that pinpoint is too difficult but I think it’s better that way. In the past every pitch would be exactly on the corner, I like that you have to get a perfect release to dot it, and I like seeing a wider variety of pitch locations rather than fastballs and sliders every pitch literally in the precise corner every time. IMO
The problem I have with pinpoint this year is no matter how far off you are on the numbers, the pitch tends to go down the middle. It reminds me of 2021. I can throw a fastball 97%/.006/1-2" and it will be 4-5 inches away from the PAR location.

Pinpoint problems go both ways funny people only complaining when it affects them

I disagree wholeheartedly. More RNG = bad. Less RNG = good.

Sure. Pitcher with 99 control, but a PAR the size of a basketball. Throw a perfect pitch and let the game decide where within a 12 inch area the pitch will end.
I'll admit when pinpoint was first introduced it was too much. I think they had it right last year.

We're you complaining for the past two years when it clearly worked as it was not intended? You know, perfect results with perfect inputs.
If not then you can't be complaining about what's happening this year.

You’re right about this. I find it to be way more fun when pitches are missed instead of dotted on the corner every time.

What the hell does that even mean? Why would someone complain about getting perfect results with perfect input?
Look, it's simple. There's a PAR. That PAR determines the possible outcomes of a perfect input. The ball can and should land anywhere in that PAR on a perfect input. Right now it's ONLY landing on the outside edge of the PAR. That's a bug. Lots of people have acknowledged this.
I'm not arguing about the merits or drawbacks of pinpoint as a whole -- whether it's "OP" or not. I don't care.
When something's obviously not working AS INTENDED BY THE DESIGNERS, yes you can -- and yes you SHOULD -- complain.

without it was a typo and you know full well the game rewarded perfect results from less than perfect inputs.
So again, we're you complaining in TS21 and last year when perfect results were rewarded from non-perfect inputs?

I don't track it. I don't care that much. But your line of thinking is akin to a ref blowing a call and then giving the other team a make-up call.
So, even though it's clearly bugged and the ball will never land in the middle of the PAR, the devs should just ignore it? To what? Make up for last year??? On "moral" grounds???
C'mon, man.

Nah these dudes want to use the easiest pitching interface and miss and still throw within an inch of their aim point. Let them be. They are really good and will get their way.
As for me the most I can see from the current game is foul balls for really good player so far that I have faced. Granted I would only put a couple of people in that category. If you swing at stuff in the dirt, or way inside it outside or high, you should miss. Don’t care where your pci is.
For everybody else struggling, learn to pitch. There’s always that 50% you will face that struggles to catch up to the pitch speed. Isn’t that why you had them ruin whatever game that was when they were slower after all, Because y’all couldn’t learn to pitch then either.
-
Main problem SDS never actually makes a mechanic more challenging and more rewarding. The just make it easier and more random. Pinpoint for me was easily the easiest pitching system to master. If you want it to be extremely rewarding (like it should be) it’s need to be much harder, and obviously the hardest out of all of them.
The same argument always get made for hitting, if you want perfect input, the PCI needs to be smaller than the ball so it can be accurate as to where it sends it. People want realism until they are hitting sub .100 because the bullseye you aim that’s 10x the size of a ball is gone.

Uh, what?
The PAR system as designed is a really good concept. When I don't have perfect input with PP it doesn't go where I want it to. When I do have perfect input, it's supposed to go randomly somewhere within the PAR. Pitchers with good control have smaller PARS and vice versa.
Right now perfect inputs land on the outside of the PAR only. That's a bug.
What's so whiny or unfair about wanting a system to work as intended. Once again, I DON'T CARE about whether or not pinpoint is easier or harder or cheesier than other inputs. That's all personal preference.
I swear people on here just engage in either/or flamewars rather than seeing the in-between.

Love it, come to the forums to see if there is any relevant info being passed along (ie egg missions, content news, updates etc) and what do we find; thread after thread after thread after thread of bitching and complaining. I should know better, but call me a glutton for punishment. It would be nice one day to just read a few threads that weren’t dedicated to constant complaining about a game mechanic.
-
Analog does just fine for me, so I'll use that.

Credit to you then sir. The reality is people are complaining now because the mechanic is probably working exactly as it should be now whereas previous two years it was probably broken.
The fact you could throw 120+ pitches with almost any SP before they would get tired should have been the clue that the mechanic was not working as it should have been.
Do I think it should be tuned a bit? Yes, but I truly believe nything less than 100% across all three inputs should be accompanied by the exact results we're currently seeing.

I think that it needs tweaking for 3 inning games. I've consistently run out of energy at EXACTLY 25 pitches, no matter the stamina rating of the pitcher. whether it's 25, 35, 85, or 125.
