cause you aren't playing in previous years, you are playing this one.
every year has a different feel to it both pitching and hitting, you have to leave behind what happened and play the way this game plays.

I feel they nerfed power off normal swings, As I can't hit a HR to save my life
Others posted they think they nerfed directional swing, but not sure as I'm not able to hit HR with Zone, Directional Or Timing this year

Reinstalled last years game and I was once again cranking HR's out using normal swing with Zone , Directional and Timing

Honestly I feel like they changed the hitting. I'm hardly getting home runs but plenty of singles and doubles.

It's all about timing and pci placement, you can't really swing for the fences this year, just put good swings on the ball.
Better the timing and placement the harder the contact, the more hard contact the better the results.
I hit better just trying to get a good swing than I do do trying to hit it
