Fielding out of position
-
I am curious to know that with the new changes on 23 (I am not playing this year) have they worked on fixing the problem with players playing out of position?
I have seen quite a few people playing with players way out of position and not seeing them get ANY penalty for this (2020 version), and wondering if they are fixing that in this years game.
Some examples of actual players I have come up against.
Babe Ruth at first. I know he played "some", but in his career he only played 219 innings of his 18K plus innings there, yet he makes plays like the best defensive first baseman ever.
Other massive cheesing being rewarded:
Kenny Lofton at short playing like Ozzie Smith
Frank Thomas as the greatest defensive left fielder ever
Jimmy Foxx catching with zero errors or passed balls. My runners on base were too slow to risk stealing.
And the most obnoxious cheeser who had zero errors defensively in a game year with these players in his lineup:
Gary Carter at third
Yordan Alvarez at second
Thomas in left
a couple other guys with outliers, but nothing too bad. Oddly enough the one player who actually was at the correct position was Gary Sanchez, who may well be the worst defensive catcher in baseball. -
I play Jose Ramirez at 1st out of pos. and haven't really seen a diff.

OK. I don't usually mind the power hitter at first base that much because even in real life it seems to be the spot to dump a guy with power and not a huge risk.
Appreciate the info.
