That perhaps the game isn't trash, it may simply be that I'm not as good as I thought I was. Btw, I don't think I'm anything special.
Yes, it does have its flaws, but at the end of the day the same people are at the top of the leaderboards. I think that SDS gave us what we asked for in one particular aspect, and that is in skill differentiation.
The good players still win more than they lose, but those who aren't as skilled as they thought they were are struggling, myself included.
Do I think some things need to tuned? Why, yes, but at the core of it is the fact that SDS has made the skill gap a wider divide between those who can and those who can't.
I know I'll get roasted for this particular take and that is fine. I'm not enjoying the game at the moment because I don't think I'm skilled enough to play well enough right now.
I think it may be time for some people, like myself, to have a good look at their skill level and stop blaming everything on the core gameplay. Weird fielding glitches aside, the game has solid potential.

Well said . I’m in the 800s, I still feel like I’m not that great though . Still strike out a ton and look stupid on certain pitches . Always been in the WS. But maybe I’m just not as good as I thought I was . The game is definitely harder than previous games , but it is the same for me and my opponent . So I guess I’ll just keep plugging away

It's really hard to determine how good you are. I mean, getting the PCI on the ball with good timing results in a lot of okay contact for routine outs, while lots of late/weak contact somehow finds a hole through the infield. So, in that case, is the good timing good PCI guy a worse player because he's not getting hits ?
-
I don’t think it’s a case of the game is harder this year because they increased the skill gap. I think the game is harder this year because it’s all over the place and there’s no consistency in outcomes. This makes it harder to improve as you never know what game you’ll be playing from one day to the next.

I don't think you can say that. If you look at the leaderboards, like I've mentioned, it's the same people there. They seem to be able to get consistent results. I was chatting to one of those guys and he was hitting .400 consistently, and yes, he is just that much better than me.
The skill gap is very real this year. It's time to "git gud", or simply accept that you're not as good as you thought you were. I know I have, but I'll try to improve.

That isn't true, or those top guys would be losing more because they make far fewer poor inputs than the vast majority of players.
Most hits in baseball are not solid squared up rockets.
How else would you propose bloopers, seeing eye singles, etc. occur in the game? Would you really want to square up a ball and get a blooper?

Beware the SDS fanboys (perhaps employees ..who knows) are spreading the propoganda already. "get gud" guy is always singing off this same sheet of music. The game is a crapshoot. It's both enjoyable and horribly lacking. Just have to be willing to put up with the bad long enough to enjoy the good.
I started 2 games today with 99 Kluber. First pitch of the game home-runs off of outside pitches buried in the red. Gold batters both.
Don't know if I was playing one of these "top guys" but if anyone is so good they can hit a dinger off of a decent pitch from the highest rated pitcher in the game....they would be hitting so many homers and ringing up the scoreboards it would be a farce. It's nothing more than AI induced animation. But, yeah, I'll admit some are better with PCI than others..that's just eye-hand coordination. But, when the AI intervenes you swing through fastballs that you KNOW you would have hit most of the time.
And, don't always trust the final placement of a pitch on PCI. The AI will display a location that's impossible based on the physics and the trajectory at the beginning of the pitch. It's animation..it's not real. And as long as you're OK with that you won't get too down on yourself and frustrated.

Sorry sir your game history determined that was a lie...

Don’t worry OP the game is trash. Way way way too many Good-okay when I’m about dead read with the PCI. But early-our in front, is a hit down the line for a double. Game is trash

I am no fanboy. I've ripped SDS plenty of times. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror, sunshine, to see where where the biggest problem lies.
-
NICE JOB OP! This is what 90% of the post on here were people complaining. I for one thought this game was leap years ahead of last year on hitting. Pitching is meh, but all in all if you mix it up well and put better results in you will win more. You in itself are humbling and I wish many from this community could learn from you. Goodluck on your future endeavours

No thanks, I’ll still blame the core gameplay instead of myself when stuff like this is happening.

Game winning triple!! Look at the feedback, Early/Okay with the PCI not even touching the ball???
I’m sorry but with garbage like this happening and how the game grooves your pitches down the middle or forces a walk with PERFECT RELEASE and forces errors to start a rally.....it’s the gameplay doing all that bs....not me.

That's why they say don't trust the feedback online. Your opponent may have seen something different.

The game is not trash. I wouldn't buy it every year if I thought it was trash. It's just not a real solid simulation. It's software driven animation that aspires to be accurate. While, at the same time, keeping some parity and excitement in the game. By excitement I'm talking about the bizarre errors that always seem to happen to load bases with zero outs. Then you get the big "exciting" showdown. Just other very odd behavior that, unfortunately, pulls the player right out of the moment and reminds them they are playing a wannabe simulation that has flaws (either induced or just bugs).
It's not trash. Wish I could be on the software engineering team. But I would sure try to steer it towards a more "realistic" simulation. Screw the parity and pushing folks to buy more stubs. Just create a stimulation with as accurate real-life physics as possible and don't let the AI interfere.

Yeah it doesn’t show what the other guy did. It does show their feedback correct I think, but not pci. That being said I definitely have hit some shots on feedback like that lol

Got to agree with you on this. But something I've really noticed in this year's game. The PCI accuracy is more skewed. I'll move my controller down right to catch a ball and the PCI will show it middle left. That happens fairly often. I would say at least once every 10 pitches. Maybe it's my controller...all 3 of them.
But, for sure, the PCI lies about final placement of a pitch a whole lot.
I "believe" that final pitch placement is just a software generated still that "should" be based on the true physics and trajectory of the pitch. But, it misses the mark a lot more this year. And, perhaps, it's just the display on my television...and a couple of my friends TV's that also point out the same inconsistency.

Just watched a game on YouTube between koogs and mcgunski. They both have the game posted, so I watched both, to get the game from both points of view. Both guys were confused as to why they were getting okay contact near the middle of the PCI and each of them hit no doubters with the PCI off the ball completely.
