I was a little confused on some of the prerelease videos, and I’m trying to play the game thinking long term.
1 - Is it true that you lose access to some players every few months within the “seasons?”
2 - Which cards should I be storing until later, knowing they will shoot up in price.
3 - What is this “wild card” thing? I saw the tutorial, but I don’t see where the slot is or what it really does.

- It's irrelevant until Set 3 anyway.

saw in another thread all of those and MLB parks are automatically unlocked for everyone. when in stadium select you just hit L1/R1 to rotate through them
