Do any of you know what I mean?
Can you ask the question again? Kinda don't wanna read the whole thread.

If MH2nd is only an 85 I would have to ask......... Why? Just why? Which attribute category did you have to BUTCHER to make him that low?

There is a post on MLB The Show's Facebook page about new Diamond Club Members.
I assumed these were the LS players that were going to start out as Diamonds. @Blind_Bleeder took it as a possible new card format (SS, Milestone, etc).
I mentioned that the have done this before and the card shown in the video is a special card just for that player (actual 1 of 1).
We had a friendly little debate going on. But Blind posted a link where it states that it's LS players that are starting out as a Diamond.
I remembered they did this before and was trying to get verification thus why I tagged you and ferris.

Don't know the actual ratings yet. Just an assumption as 85 is the lowest you can be rated to get Diamond status. I'm going to guess 87-88. Only 90+ cards will be Ohtani, Trout, Scherzer, and maybe Judge. May be missing one or two.

I didn't say they were a new series in the game. I said they were a 1/1 card given to players as an award. By players, I meant MLB players.

Oh okay, as far as I know this Diamond club thing is just a way to promote the players who will have a diamond LS rating at the start of the cycle. They try to give it an award kinda vibe for the players while sharing their reactions on social for clout.

My bad. I misunderstood your entire comment. I assumed you thought SDS was going to release a new series and those players listed were going to be in that series. That's why I came back with the LS rebuttal.
I apologize for the assumption.

First of all: The diamond club and their videos showing players opening a box and pulling out kind of a trophy with a diamond card means: The player is getting a diamond rating in DD. It was the same last year and the year before (if I remember correctly).
Usually the even call it something like „The club of 40“, which means, that we are getting 40 diamonds in DD to start offDon‘t be confused with the „ratings reveal“, which was offline ratings.

MH ist a special thing, I suppose. Usually they are doing this „last-3-year-average“. He has only one (and a good one with a WAR over 5), maybe their algorithm had some kind of „projection“ for years, which he played less than a full season (same for the pandemic year). That algorithm voted him down a little (and/or they corrected this special case) … I think, 85 is an awesome starting point for this case

Yes. 85 would be great. Any higher and if he starts off slow; they'll be quick to downgrade him. Which is why I would prefer monthly updates instead of every other week.
