So how does this work…do I just get the standard version on game pass, and Do I have to pay extra for early access?

From what I understand you don't get early access unless you buy the digital version.
If you don't buy the actual game you can't pay a percentage to get early access and as the other poster states; you can't play on Game Pass until the 28th.

Most people get 3 years of gamepass for $1. It's not illegal to do. MS encourages it.
Also get gamepass Ultimate. you can play games on cloud like the show thru your phone, tablet, laptop, console, et.c..

I preordered one year early on ps4. the entire 4/5 days servers didnt work and it was a waste of money.

I bought the switch deluxe version last year for early access then the Xbox version is available via my GP subscription
The first 4 days I play conquest and Mini Season so kinda makes sense to solo grind on switch
