I use zone but was trying timing and had some success but I was wondering does the left stick have any influence on contact or is it 100% timing and that's it.

    Thanks for any response.

    100% timing and that’s it.

I am a weak hitter, and have tried every hitting combo there is. With zone I found I was hitting for slightly higher average and power but was striking out much more because it created extra holes in my swing.

I think that at least for me, as I have made marginal improvements that it is a combination of timing and the player swing. For example I cannot get a hit with Brandon Phillips on rookie for some reason.

The left stick doesn't have any influence... if you're using timing with buttons, then it's just timing. If you're using timing with analog swing, then the right stick has to be angled in the direction of the pitch for good contact as you swing (inside/middle/outside).
