I cant hit. Its depressing. I'm stating to hate this game.

I posted this is in the MLB the Show Reddit, but I'm trying to get as much feedback because I hope its not just me.
Hitting is hard right now. It feels almost impossible after recent patches.
When I came over from 19 - my first MLB the Show - I sucked at hitting but managed to pitch pretty well. Now in 20, I cant do either - with the exception of the first week of the game where I could manage a few runs before that horrid patch.
Now I know I suck at hitting in 20. On RS I linger between 370 to 470 and have yet to break 500.
Im lucky if I score one run in a game. I played a 13 inning game where me any my opponent only had 2 hits a piece up until the 9th inning and neither of us were using any OP pitchers. (My lineup is almost all diamonds)
Its depressing. I feel like I'm trying to hit a golfball that's remote controlled to deliberately and precisely avoid coming close to my bat.
I got so fed up I changed to directional so I could just forget about the PCI and I got a lucky home run off it. Changed back to zone and I can't get a hit.
Late on low 90s fastballs and above. Early on high 90s fastballs. Late on offspeed. Popping up virtually every pitch regardless. To top it off I'll give up a solo or something on an actual good located pitch and that's all my opponent needs to win.
It's so depressing that I have to wonder... What's the actual point of grinding or even buying great players if I can barely get any hits? What's the fcking point in wasting all that time for no fcking tangible reward?
You might as well not even bother with online play. Feels like a gut punch every single [censored] game.
It's already affecting how I feel about the rest of the game. Flipping stubs is very time consuming with the current margins, but I keep at it so i can save up to slowly finish collections. But if I cant hit at all, no matter the player, why am I wasting my time?
I'm at the point where I dont want to actually play this game at all anymore. Never thought I'd get to this point.
I used to look forward to logging on and grinding out some daily challenges. It was fun. Playing as a crappy all Rangers team on RS even though I'd knew I'd lose almost every game was enjoyable because I knew I'd get Gallo. Same for the Padres to get Tahtis.
Now it feels like a minimum wage job that you cant wait to leave and rush home to play video games. I'm now tempted to play just about anything else.
I'm a casual, but I like grinding to get better players so I can have a chance at some actual fun - like scoring a few runs in a game even if I lose. With these recent patches that's getting harder and harder to do, let alone be a possibility.
Can you imagine how someone just starting off with a bronze team in RS will feel after a few games?
Every game is now basically going to be that feeling of a despairing fail that makes you want to simply stop playing. It really sucks because theres so much great stuff in this game, but that seems to irrelevant when I cant actually do the two things you are supposed to be able to do in a baseball game; hit and pitch.
-
It's a tale of two games for me, on All-star, it's a home run/hitting frenzy, on HoF it's a snooze fest.
-
I've hit 860 three times now. Both times riding 3+ game win streak.
Everytime I hit 860 I got on like a 3-4 game L streak

I started playing baseball again after not playing for 8 years after high school. Baseball isn’t a sport you can just not play for almost a decade and expect to be somewhat decent. I sucked horribly at hitting. Fielding came back a lot quicker.
But do you know how good it feels when I actually see improvement. When I get hits instead of getting the golden sombrero game after game.
Don’t worry so much about winning. Just focus on improving. Look for your own tendencies and be aware of how the effect how you play.
Most importantly, enjoy the grind of getting better.
-
It's the super short timing window, it feels like you only have 3 or 4 frames to get your input in. It's way narrower than it was the first week. They did the same thing with the first patches in 19 as well.
Add in the fastball speeds now and if you're not that great to start with it's just magnified ten fold now.
-
Hitting is definitely a mess right now. All around it’s a mess
-
I think if you use pci hitting you have to find some sort of pattern that works for you by trying different stuff out, like try starting your pci high and inside and adjusting etc, i am older so I just leave my pci in the middle And move it fast after its thrown it works for me because my finger doesnt move much till its throw so its less stress on my thumb and I just have to react to the pitch .
-
It’s the most difficult thing to do and separates really good players from average ones. My hitting always held me back and why last year, my first online after a decade offline, I capped at CS, once or twice. With the speeds this year, I’ll be lucky to get above AS.
-
i cant hit anything online is RS. im normally in the high 700s. somewhere in the slightly above average demo.
this year so far i am 6-3 i think. i cant hit a thing....on 200!!! i dont know what's going on but im disgusted with them trying to make this as hard a possible for all the super freaking expert players while the vast majority are not expert players. they dont care one bit. bunch of a holes.
-
I’m in 700s and they are harder than they have ever been.

Isn’t that the truth. I played 3 years out of HS and I couldn’t touch a 85 mph fastball at first. The bats were heavier than what I had used so I had to get a new timing down, I batted 450+ in HS so it was a humbling experience at first.
As the game goes practice makes you better and playing all star or higher vs cpu makes you better too. Don’t grind on rookie, start at veteran and move to all star etc. I do play veteran on stat grinds bc it’s faster but play All star when it’s just “play 15 innings with Yankees hitters”. Showdown also helps with hitting bc you have to learn to hit the harder pitchers and it rolls over to RS

I will get in the 700’s and need a win or 2 to get to 800 and bam I lose. I’ll have games where I can miss but then when I lose it’s good okay almost the whole game. Just use mgunskis 3 click method, it helps with timing

What’s the three click method?

In a hitting tips video, mugunski says 1ckick from when the hand leaves the glove, one when the foot hits the ground and the third after the pitch is released. Works for getting timing on the fastball
-
Three clicks doesn't matter. AS pitch speeds feel like Legend from last year. Add in the velocity boost some of these pitchers have (no way in hell a pitcher can consistently hit 102 with a fastball for seven straight innings) and it's a lost cause.

Hitting is fairly easy. Some of you guys are just bad and need to practice.
Please don’t make this game even more hitting friendlier with your complaining

oh F off. you are the reason this games is hard. everyone needs an uber competitive [censored] measuring game. go play real baseball if you need a challenge. my real life is a challenge enough. cant a game just be fun? id like to sit down and play a game that doesn't cause me to have high blood pressure.

This game is as easy as you want it to be offline. If you’re playing other people online, it’s not going to be consistently easy. That’s just not how playing other real people works lol
-
The timing window is completely shot with hitting and the PCI is as small as it’s ever been. Pitch speeds are also faster than they’ve ever been.
My honest opinion is they got butthurt at all the complaints out the gate and cranked everything up as an FU to the community.
Everyone needs to kiss and make up and SDS needs to find a happy medium. The game was playing great at launch.
99% of people saying it was too easy weren’t even at HOF yet. It was rewarding good input. That is completely removed from the game now.
Pitching is a mess, you can’t paint corners or anything really. Sometimes you’re forced to throw a meat ball because you know more than likely you won’t be able to locate your pitch.
Fielding is a mess. I’ve legit lost games from outfielders not locking on to fly balls.
Baserunning has a mind of its own. Sometimes the runner will just keep running.
Of all the stuff I mentioned, the most broken aspect of the game right now is that timing window. It is completely shot.
And if you leave pitches cranked up so fast, we will lose all the new players you acquired this year. I know a ton of them personally that are about to quit.
We had a lot of momentum coming into this year’s game. Even with it’s flaws, last year was a success. SDS is the only company in these team building games that isn’t a bunch of crooks.
I still believe in this year’s game. The next patch has to get back to what was so fun at launch.
