Gotta cut the grind down in 2023
-
I stopped playing this year because DD started to feel like too much of a chore. Too many hoops to jump through to unlock a card along with shorter times to complete programs and events made it feel like a job at times. 2023 can't be the same.
EVERY card needs to be unlocked by simply playing the game offline or online. I shouldn't have to do 20 offline moments before I get a certain card.
There was a time when I'd hop on, see where I could improve, maybe make some moves and then jump into a game. Now I'm like who do I need PXP with? What missions do I need to do? How many moments? Did I miss yesterday's daily? It's just all a bit much at this point.

How many guys with demanding jobs and kids had to quit because they got too far behind? Not being able to finish expired program had to hurt
-
Apart from the xtreme program I do not think that the programs were either too hard or too much of a grind.
Cards from programs imo require „some work“, otherwise they could just give em away -

This is a baseball game and there are ZERO stat based goals. 100 hits online or offline is better than telling me to just keep pressing buttons during this Moment and eventually we'll let you out of here.
-
If „silly“ is your way handling other opinions, we do not have a discussion anymore. Good luck debating with yourself. btw: there are and were lots of stat based goals.

Wow... you're super soft.
Making me get 5 hits online or offline with a 72 Bronze isn't the stat missions I'm referring to. That's just more hoops to jump thru....along with missions, Moments and PXP.
There was a time when you'd get stubs for team based stats. HR, hits, doubles, triples. All that good stuff associated with baseball.
Making me pitch 7 innings or hitting X amount of doubles while giving me ZERO control isn't baseball. Let's spend 15 minutes putting good swings on the ball only to complete the mission on the worst swing ever. No rhyme or reason. Mind numbingly boring...

No need to. Given the fact that SDS rewards cheesers they already get freebies by cheating their way to undeserved victories and rewards.

It was a joke, but it's the direction this game is going. More and more they are implementing Call of Duty objectives instead of baseball. With all the diving plays and missions the game is a mix of MLB, COD and NBA Jams.
Add in the fact that they shortened the length of programs and events and now everybody is running around with their head cut off. 25 Event wins in 5 days sucks when you have 30 moments, 5000 PXP and a Conquest map to finish.
I'm somebody who can play 8 hours a day and I feel like this. It's way too grindy and the devs nowadays think you shouldn't do anything else but slave over their games.
This isn't the game I fell in love with. Bring back post game card drops. Bring back team based stat missions. Making this game feel like a job isn't the way to do it.

I played maybe 2-3 hours per week, maybe 4-5 if I had the time, and I completed EVERY program, got EVERY card available, and have over 15M in stubs.
And when I say completed every program I mean that I made it to the last possible reward.
You don't need to make it to the end of each program. As long as you make it to the Boss; you're good. Everything after that is icing on the cake.

Sounds like you flip alot. You'd have to if you play less than 5 hours a week I don't flip whatsoever. I just sell what the game gives me.
I think the app is one of the worst things to happen to this game.
It's either use real money, play all day or flip cards. It's all a grind.

I knew it was a joke, I was just pointing out my biggest gripe with SDS. Or perhaps they should just rename themselves EA Sports II.

I play offline and completed every program for the first time ever. It never seemed like a job to me.
Moments can be a pain, but no one is forcing us to do them.
No need for you guys to go at each other calling each other names here, either.
People should just agree to disagree.
'No need to get personal,' as Jake From State Farm says 🤪 -
I think there’s truth to what OP posted. The game just got too boring and grindy for me around September. I have zero motivation to play whatsoever at this point. I played 21 for all 12 months as a comparison.

Yep the game has fallen into oblivion down at Davey’s Locker

I think it was the Headliners program where SDS finally made cards unlockable by simply playing the game online or offline and using PXP. That's exactly how ALL programs should be.
What's it say about a video game when the best way to play it is to put your favor show on and grind Conquest and moments while turning into a vegetable?
We've gotten so far away from playing actual baseball in this game. This game has turned into a circus.

SDS’s job is to maximize user engagement with the game.
Sounds like they’re doing a great job.

You've been around long enough to know that's BS. Making your gamers perform mind numbingly boring tasks isn't engagement. Watching your favorite Netflix show while pushing buttons isn't my idea of gaming.
I'm here to compete. Not bang my head on the wall.

Still can't believe you didn't get a 99 Mays worthy of his career stats. I don't understand that one!

I agree. In past I’ve always been able to accomplish everything. I didn’t have time to get half the stuff accomplished this year.
