Is BR the way to go to earn big rewards?

Me so far:
Entries: 7 (-9000K. First one was the freebie)
Points earned so far: 65 (still have the 15K and 25K whales left)Earnings from Free Packs (plus win 3 reward): 3267
Earnings from Bronze Packs: 27,000
Earnings from Silver Packs: 27,000
Earnings from Gold Packs: 112,500 with a Mauer to go
Earnings from 3 Headliners at 50 points: 2700Total profit (so far): 163,467. Even if it takes me another 109 entries to get those last 35 points, I'm still coming out ahead given the remaining rewards in the path.
Dorkalicious!
Whales? Are you in mini-seasons?
I get how to get ahead in BR now. Thanks for helping to understand this. Out of the two games I played this morning, I have 0 points. I don't think my first trip through will be profitable, because there are a lot of cards I don't have - unless - I sell them and don't collect them, or, sell them and buy them back at a lower price (flip).

Whales?
You get 15 point hauls at 15K and 25K PXP.

BR has always been the way to make many stubs if you can consistently make deep runs or go 12-0. Early in the game cycle the high diamonds are very expensive and later on the supply/demand for the flawless cards inflates the prices of all those cards.
great to see you here mate
i never made 12-0 before - the best i did was 11-1

I've entered 4 times today and won 6 games. I did get a repeatable Rookie goal, so I got the double bronze packs, but I really don't know if this is economical for me.
I need every one of those bronze cards for the collections, so I have to make a decision, sell them for 2500 a piece, or collect them. Deskisions, deskisions, deskisions.

Don't forget to sell the dupes from your free packs. Add in the other rando packs and headliners you earn in the path and the entry fees pay for themselves.

I didn’t have any dupes. Well, I did have some of the TN and a Veteran card but everything else was new for me. I picked up 6 Rookie cards. I got a silver Live card when I hit 3 wins and sold that, but not for much.
If I would have played BR all season, then I’d have dupes. I will say that it was cheaper than buying the 6 cards.

Thanks! Keep going at it, you'll get there eventually.

Okay - so I need to look at this more like a program than a showdown. I'll make a spreadsheet outlining the missions and reward path and then give it a shot. I'll try not to think about the entry stubs (which is why I thought of it more like a showdown).
(this was on my 2023 list of things to learn, along with pinpoint, so I may as well get a head start on it.)
You really need to do it. I'll set up a Teams meeting!

I know. It's just demoralizing to lose more than I win and not get much accomplished toward completing missions. It felt like I was spinning my wheels in the last entry.
It's great getting the new cards I need for collections when I am able to reach a reward. If I ever get to the point of getting dupes, then I can sell them to get some of the stubs back.
I realize I'm late to the party and won't realize the best opportunity to make stubs off the cards, but this is the best time to learn.
Another frustration is not being able to draft the cards I need to complete missions (Veteran pitchers come to mind).
I'll do it some more, I just need to psych myself into it.

Don't look at it that way. I've had stretches where I win 9 games in a run (rarely) and others where I lose two straight. I focus 100% on the missions, and when I win... Bonus!

This thread inspired me.
I started yesterday morning and just got to 100 points now.
Rewards earned must have been over 2m in the end.
Managed to complete Mantle and have enough left over to buy Goose and Cueto
Well worth it.
I still haven’t completed Takashi. But I’m not that bothered.

Thank you very much. I took Johnson. It was a heart-wrenching decision, but I did it.

I just completed it for my 2nd time. Took Walter J. Debating whether I should sell or not. I can get a couple of pitchers and still have change left.

You can reset the points to zero and start over?

Yes…once I hit 100, I wasn’t interested in continuing so I “forfeit” the entry which resets the xp to zero when you start another draft.

I got to 104 points but I still need more of the collection cards, so I’m going to try this. Thanks.

I make several million stubs by getting to 30 event wins fairly early on each event. There are always one or two players with million stub buy orders lined up and several rewind packs.

Rewarding despite being infuriating, hard to put streaks together in what feel like highly rigged games. Every time I take a lead I am immediately met with multiple towering home runs off pitches I didn't even remotely put in the zone. Opponents seem to have endless miracles. I don't have any luck at all on my side and on the rare occasion I catch a break, the aserunner AI conveniently falls asleep. All this despite being matched at the bottom of the barrel? Highly suspect. Kinda hard to put together winning streaks when you're being straight up cheated. I really hate online modes.

This is the first year I've started with BR and will be doing it for now on. You don't even really need to win to advance through it and sometimes you'll run into someone that just lets you tee off to advance faster.
