    Hello Everyone,

I have completed every program up to now playing only offline using Conquest maps, Mini Seasons, Moments, and sometimes Play vs CPU nine innings games against the punching bags like the Pirates, As, and Nationals.
I decided to try Battle Royale for the Trout card because I looked at the program and saw it was, for the most part, just grinding out points like the regular programs. OK, I figure I can work through this.
I played three games and now I have questions. I won the first one because my opponent was not much better than me and then I was beaten the next two and in those games I saw weird things.
    My two questions are

    1. When I pitch the ball just floats in there and looks so hittable. Absolutely far slower than All Star and most of the time even slower than Rookie. Like it is Minors or slower than that. But when I am pitched against it looks slower than All Star sometimes but other times All Star. However, it never looks anywhere near as slow as when I pitch. I play on a switch, is this simply lag and console horsepower or is there something else going on? Can someone set their own Hitting difficulty in All Star? I have not found that setting and reading online it is supposed to be fixed to All Star.
    2. The concept of Battle Royale is "even playing field" instead of going against players with super rosters. You draft from the same pool and everyone's team is about even. Seems laudible by SDS to try this. But in my game #2 the opponent had 3 diamonds instead of only 2 and in game #3 the opponent had 4 diamonds including Takashi Griffey and the just released Finest Rutschman. How does this happen and where is the concept of level playing field? Is there something I am missing about team building in this mode because I have not played it much and don't understand everything about it?

Thanks for any insight and sorry this was a little long.

You should get 3 diamonds for every draft. It's possible if someone had 4, they drafted prior to the roster update and one of their golds went diamond. There are supercharged cards which could add a diamond level player but that ends today I believe.

My guess on the speed or lack of speed on your pitches is a lag issue on the switch but not positive. Look up YouTube videos on the best way to draft. I am terrible at online but I'm working my way through BR. It's definitely doable.

That makes sense for the diamonds. Pitch speeds for me seem about right. But I'm on an HDMI 2.1 monitor with good internet. That makes all the difference.

I completed the 100 points to get Trout and it took about 8 hours of playing. I drafted 3 silver SP's and 2 or 3 RP/CP's and sometimes 1 gold RP. I used my diamond and gold picks for position players. Once you get used to it and do several drafts you figure out who works for you. The most important thing is getting PXP for the players in the program. Wins get you 1 point which adds up but I think I won like 11 games total and the rest came from different missions. It's a bonus that the packs you get give you players to help with collections if you haven't already completed them. Hope this helps with your progress.

The game slows down on the pitching side to allow the consoles to sync back up smoothly for when the ball is put in play. Your opponent is not getting that slow of a pitch to hit, it looks normal on their end

    What were your runs?

Best run I had was 6 wins but most of the time I won 1 or 2 games per entry. I went back and looked and actually won 21 games in total but some were people that quit as soon as the game started.

    Thank you!!!

That explanation makes sense to me.

I made quite a bit of progress last night so I can see I will be able to grind this out in the end, I just don't know yet how many 1500 stub restarts it will take. 🙂

I finished this last week and since I had never played online before, I have a couple of questions so I can learn something from this grind.

    1. Why do some players specifically set their conditions to rain? Is it simply they are used to it and know others would have little experience so the slight edge might help?
    2. Similar question about picking a stadium, month and time to have the pitcher in sun and batter in shadow. I hate that when I accidentally put myself in that when playing offline because the pitcher and background is so bright I struggle to pick up the ball. Since it is the same for both players, it is not like my opponent can hit any better. I don't get it.
    3. I read stuff online about drafting strategy and it all made sense. I was doing the same thing and most opponents did as well. I also hit my players that needed PXP at the top no matter how poor they were like I do in my offline grinding. I maximized my PXP and if I win, I win and if I lose I lose, but I still get the most towards my goal. It was interesting to see the difference between the players setting their lineups like me compared to the ones that always hit their three diamonds at the top. But after I finished I was thinking about the players who are so good that they can complete the 12-0 streak. Hitting is such a crapshoot online because of lag and variable timing from game to game and even inning to inning it made consistent hitting really hard for me. I started to wonder about a different strategy. How viable would it be to invest your diamonds and golds in 3 stud starters to rotate game to game and 4-5 solid bullpen arms and count on throwing a shutout each game because hitting is so challenging and then each game eventually scoring a run to secure the win? If you never give up a run, you have to win at some point. Does this strategy ever work online?
      Thanks for reading.

I typically draft all my best players as hitters since I don’t chase 12-0. Pay close attention to the objectives and make sure you max out XP on all the BR program cards.

Honestly the best way to get BR done is to message your opponent and agree to allow 10 runs per half inning on purpose. Folks are more likely to agree if you promise them the win, which if you aren’t chasing 12-0 is all good. With this method I usually get 100 BR points within the first few days.

But why cheat a game that we're all going to stop playing in a few months anyway
