I'm pretty sure they were expecting the season to have begun and there was some content planned along those lines (I don't know this, it's only conjecture). They may be scrambling right now to figure out what to do. They also have the added problem that they can't be in the same room any more.

I'm so bored with the content right now as a mostly offline player. I have zero reason to ever use my best possible squad. Can't believe I'm this bored this early in the game cycle

Do you have all of the FOTF? Those are really good cards, which can be had for free, with a bit of grinding. Considering first inning bosses are at about a 90 rate, and the FOTF, are sitting at about an 88, 89, there is definitely something to work on. I've been using MTO in order to get the cards. It's a long, tiring, but can be fun game mode that will definitely kill some time.
