    Also:

The New York Yankees were 167-0 in postseason history when leading by multiple runs entering the ninth inning- until tonight.

Congrats to the Padres. The fans there seem so happy and I'm happy for them. They deserve this. Phills and Pads will be a great series.

Hard to believe we're on the brink of elimination after a 111 win season. I guess that means nothing in the playoffs. I'm not sure if the Padres pitching is that good or the Dodgers are just slumping after being off for 5 days. Anyways, Phillies and Padres would be a good series. But who knows, maybe the Dodgers will come out tonight with some energy and win a game. A game 5 would be great.

The question has been whether teams that get the first round bye would be rusty and actually underperform in the divisional series. So far 2 of 3 (Dodgers and Braves) have been eliminated. If the Yankees lose on Monday, that will be 3 of 4....... May this lead to a reconsideration of this new playoff format??

Doubt it as it is only 1extra day, besides it's only the hitting affected pitchers actually benefit from the extra rest.i personally think it's more to do with easier into the playoffs and being comfortable and facing a team fired up from playoffs victories then it being too much time off.

Only hitting affected? Thats half the game lol. But I don't think it was the time off. They just didn't perform. No excuses. especially from guys like mookie and Justin.

I could tell in the Colorado series that something was wrong. Seeing as all three 100 win teams from the NL went 0-3 I think it has to do with not playing meaningful games for several months and being expected to turn it on in the playoffs. Dodgers lost because they got outplayed. That last game really hurt because I think Anderson could have gone longer and the bullpen immediately imploded.
