Does PXP encourage you to play online or offline?
-
I started playing last year and was an offline player who started playing more and more online. Got to the point where that was my preference and continued that way this year as well, but as the year has gone along I see myself playing more and more offline. A lot of that has to do with gameplay, but I am starting to think the PXP push this year is driving me offline more also.
I feel like anytime there is a program like POTM, I have the mindset that it will be a great time to load up mission players and get the "online bonus" while working on online programs, but it seems like that doesn't last long and I switch to grinding it out offline. It is either the PXP just seems to come much slower online or the "rage quits" and "early quits" make it seem like it isn't worth it.
Just curious if you guys feel like the PXP missions are motivating you to play more online or offline?

Nothing wrong with either way and not sure if it encouraging me one way or the other. I don't play much Ranked because..... well it's "ranked" If I can use a program card in an event i'll go that route. Nothing wrong with grinding some mini seasons and getting it done or even playing the o'l CPU on rookie every now and then if you really want it to go fast.

Biggest online pusher for me is the RS innings rewards. PXP much preferable to be done offline.

I thought the same thing. With the bonus PXP by playing online; I thought it would get done faster.
Unless you're a decent player who can bat at least .300; it's not worth it.
It's actually worth it to play Mini Seasons as you're gaining PXP towards the program you're working on AND progress in that mode.
Plus if you play on a higher difficulty than Rookie; you still get a bonus, but not as much. I think online is 1.5 and offline AS is 1.2
Also, if you're getting shelled and want to quit the online game and do that before your 8th batter; you get nothing.
You still get nothing if you quit before the 8th batter vs the CPU; but how many people actually do that?

I play pretty much exclusively offline. I enjoy the conquest maps and have beat the USA one like 5 times. That, mini seasons, and the moments keep me busy enough for sure.

I really need to start doing the Map again. I thought once was plenty but when there's nothing to grind, this seems like a solid program. How many stubs fo you usually get out of a trip around the map?

PXP makes this game feel like a chore. I don't like it.

I would agree. I know pxp is gained online and offline (outside of moments and showdown), but the pxp push this year makes it feel like it is controlling how I play most of the time. Every time I feel like I am caught up, there is another program where I have to get pxp with something.

PXP is basically irrelevant to me, it’s just another addiction mechanism.
I’ve never P5d any player, Brett and Randy have the best chance ever but I’ve never let the +1 one really effect me. I will win just as many games with a P4 Randy and Brett as I would a P5. Probably just as many with a P1 Randy and Brett. P5 does look awesome though.

I am the same way when it comes to paralleling cards, but you can’t really complete programs like POTM, Player Programs, Extreme or many “other programs” without pxp.

It's not about P5. It's about having to use cards you don't want to for tens of thousands of PXP.
I've been trying to get 2 guys to 2500 PXP since 7am. Now throw in the sleazy way they spread out the program points and we have a problem.

Who are you trying to get to 2,500 PXP? Do you need per player or PXP total between the two?

Bro I'm doing the May monthly program. I spoke wrong. I had 1 pitcher and needed 2500XP and 2 batters for 1500.
I'm not a fan of the monthly program grind. If PXP is here to stay then make every program unlockable like Extreme Program. I don't want to do 37 momemts and 15 individual PXP missions.
This game is turning into nothing but hoops to jump thru. Used to fire it up and play. Now it's like where do I begin.
Not fun

I was strictly a cpu player at the start cause it was my 1st MLB game and was horrible H2H but after completing the Randy Johnson set and having pretty much all the OP players in my lineup and a solid coin stash I started to play H2H way more. I definitely still play the cpu every now and then though.

Yeah, unfortunately if your not good enough to put up massive numbers with players you either have to long grind that PXP or buy all the players and then sell them back when you get the PXP finished.

I'm not the greatest but trying to use low 90's Dansby Swanson and Varsho against Kerry Wood and Aroldis all day isn't easy.

Thus why you do it offline.

I just completed the US Map last week and the Prospect cards were going for over 3k. You get 2 from each division. It is an easy way to get Wood what you need for Extreme. I like the Mystery Map that gives the 5 packs sell everything off and repeat only have to play 3 teams.

If anything, playing online has significantly discouraged me from doing it. I took a decade away from gaming and since my return am nowhere near the player I once was. I don't mind losing, but with all the cheesing, dashboarding, and freezing I just don't find it worth the effort since I still struggle badly hitting now.
I finally completed all the programs in 21 but have a lot of 20 to complete since I didn't do much with that one. Once I am done with that I am probably done forever online since it looks like every new game is basically a roster update and they have done nothing to address the extremely toxic online game play.
