Their supercharging method is strange.
Gallen has a 40+ scoreless inning steak and nothing.
Strider strikes out 16 batters on 9/1 and it's 9/5 and the card still as over 24 hrs left to be supercharged.
What happened to the 48 hrs that others have received?
I don't think they know what they're doing and they just randomly do stuff. Just like the Daily Moments for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of Sept.
Let's have a milestone reached by that player; but instead of using the card associated with that milestone; we're going to pick a different one.
Strider got extra time because of Labor day weekend. It's easier to give extra supercharged time than pay someone to turn it off on a holiday.

It seems obvious that SDS did not consider that streak when coming up with the Supercharged criteria.
Unless SDS has some bizarre plan for him then I would not worry about being supercharged as he should be a shoo-in for a player of the month card in 4 days. I would not even bet against him getting the lightning card.

Super charge him for what? A good start?
Really, i bet u were one who was happy for the goldy super charged when his hit streak was going on.
Dumb statement on your partI don't really have an opinion on the Goldy hot streak one but I don't think 7 innings 7ks is super charge worthy. I'm not a Diamondbacks fan so I don't know if he's got some crazy streak going but based off of his last start I don't understand why he would be supercharged.
Maybe next time just explain why he should be supercharged instead of being a snarky [censored] if you want people to agree with you
Iam not a dbacks fan either, iam a fan of the game and SDS should promote the game.
I dont think i was being snarky, but if unread about his last start, i would assume there would b a blip about the 7th best scoreless IP by a pitcher.
I mean they gave a kid a super charge for hardest hit ball in stat cast era and u cant do something for this
Just wish SDS was not being lazy on this -

Keep LS usable all year! Supercharge one player from the winning team of every game. It’s September so almost no one uses LS cards anymore. The supercharge is just a temporary Topps Now card. Bring on the supercharge!
I agree 100%. Supercharging was a great idea, but I think SDS needs to be a little more "loose" with it. Almost any time a LS is supercharged, I use it.
That said, given the Goldy (and I think Trea?) supercharged cards for hitting streaks earlier in the year, Gallen would make sense.

I think that they stopped doing hitting streaks Vlad Jr and somebody else I believe hit a 20 game streak and were nit supercharged.

C'mon SDS! It's September. TIME FOR EXTREME SUPERCHARGING.
A common gets 2 hits in a game? Supercharge. A bronze strikes out Trout? Supercharge. The Pirates win a game? Supercharge the whole team. I would love to enter a RS game with all LS Pirates.

Adolis Garcia (thank you St Louis by the way) had a 23 game hit streak for the Rangers.

SDS quit being lazy, super charge Gallen
Dude, preaching to the choir. Gallen is my favorite player. But my DBacks get no love. Couldn't even give it to McCarthy the other day.
Can't wait for him to go Diamond soon. Then I will have my first Diamond 1/1.

It's a shame this isn't front page news from MLB. Gallen has been incredible the entire month and will most likely break the franchise record his next start. The earlier comments kind of show how little publicity it has considering somebody had zero knowledge of such a streak.

Like you say, the MLB does a terrible job of promoting it's players. After my initial comment I went and looked up his recent stats and he has been beyond dominant for the last month plus. Definitely deserves to be talked about more.

Gallen has had a fantastic 2nd half, and he's turning into the best pitcher that no one knows. The media tends to ignore the D-backs (and, to be fair, that's their own fault... they haven't made a serious effort to be contenders for a while), but the lack of publicity around Gallen's streak is still disappointing. He's only one good start away from jumping to #3 on the all-time list. The record is 59 by Orel, then 58 by Drysdale, then 47 by Bob Gibson. I know it's not as revered and well-known as DiMaggio's streak, but 59 consecutive scoreless innings is just as mind-boggling to me.
I'm a White Sox fan, but I went to grad school in AZ so I adopted the D-backs as my 2nd favorite team. It's been a while since I've been this excited for their future! They've amassed a lot of really interesting prospects, and the franchise has shown a willingness to spend some money (even though they usually spend it poorly). There are some very high-priced superteams developing in the NL, but I think they're going to be very pesky in a crowded field.
This is a hot take, but I think AZ is in a better long-term position to be competitive than San Diego. AZ has significantly more payroll flexibility and trade capital, and they've still got several cost-controlled young guys on the way who will help in the near future. San Diego is spending money and gutting their farm system like their hair is on fire, and even still they are barely hanging on to the WC. The NL West should be very interesting in 2024 (and I think the D-backs could make it pretty interesting in 23, as well).

Well said and I completely agree. Gallen is a great pitcher and I was surprised to see Miami trade him away after having decent success early on with them. Arizona plays their games later being on the West Coast and to be honest ever since Goldy left they don't have that MVP type player in their lineup to market even if they wanted to. I got to visit Arizona in the fall the season they landed JD Martinez for that insane run and got to meet President Derrick Hall and Legend Luis Gonzalez at a conference. Hall was met with questions surrounding Martinez and if they would be signing him but he ultimately landed in Boston as we all know. I think they scout well, make some smart moves but one move that will haunt them forever is the Dansby Swanson trade, he would be that star they could market and build around.

If they decide to make the lightning card a pitcher for Aug then I would say that he is the frontrunner.
