They seem to hate the guy. It's maddening!
Hate? That is a strong word. Looking at his attributes he is held back by his BB/9 rating of 49. He walks 3.8 batters per 9 innings
Just as a comparison Degrom, who is the highest rated live series pitcher in the game with a BB/9 rating of 85. He is averaging 0.7 walks per 9.0
I don't believe, as long as Nick Livingston is creative director and die hard White Sox fan, that he would let them get by with ignoring Cease.

He lost it with one out left. I’d be sick if I was him. His facial expression said it all.

Did his mustache fall off? Asking for a friend....

Yes. It did. Craziest **** I’ve ever seen.

What an amazing year he's having. Could grab the Cy Young at this point.

Please. You know [censored] well if Cease was a Cardinal you would have been ranting about it all year.
The fact that he hasn't even been a Monthly Awards henchman is an absolute joke.
He's been mentioned as the possible Lightning player at least 2-3 months, but was snubbed for any Diamond.
And then again snubbed for an AS card.
PS I'm a Sox fan. A RED Sox fan. So no bias here. Just truth.

You can believe what you want but I don't believe that I would because I know how the pitcher ratings work and I know that K/9 and BB/9 play a huge part of that. I learned that last year when Alex Reyes had his record setting run in the first half of the season and never went above a silver because he walked too many batters. Also when Adam Wainwright, who finished 7th in NL Cy Young voting never got above silver because he did not strike out enough batters.
That does not mean that I agree with the system because I don't. This one size fits all rating system does not work for all types of pitchers.
As for why he has been passed over for POTM considerations, that I have no answer for. Legitimate complaints can be made there.

Fair enough. Yeah I wasn't necessarily arguing for a LS upgrade, just think it's bizarre how he's completely passed over for any Flashback.

It will be interesting to see if he gets at least a Topps Now card for the 1 hitter. Mikolas did earlier this year when he lost his with one out to go. They could go a mid 90's Topps Now followed later by a 99 finest if that is their plan for him.

Yeah Topps Now cards have been pretty bad this year. I bet a June Monthly would have been better than a current Topps Now.
Finest seems like a lock, but getting ignored the whole year before that still seems a bad decision.
