2004 Finest 97 Juan Pierre

85 Fielding? … Juan Pierre played the most innings of his career in 2004, and had a .995 fielding %. How is that only 85 fielding? He should atleast have 90 fielding.
Also, giving 90 stealing to one of the best base stealers in the history of the game is a little disrespectful, especially when his 91 overall card is 99 speed/99 steal I believe. -
His 91 Milestone card is much better for stealing (99/99). His fielding attribute is way too low on both cards.

Fielding percentage, especially for outfielders, is a really bad metric to use

Truth. Hard to argue against that. Corbin has committed zero errors and has a perfect Fielding % for his entire MLB career. Compare that to Pierre who committed 40 errors and yielded a .990 Fielding %. Pretty clear IMO who the better player is.

His first at-bat in the event was a no doubt shot lol, playing around with the card and he seems pretty fun

He was never viewed as a great fielder. He’s fast but didn’t get insane jumps he was just alright. His arm was a liability.
He got caught stealing a lot in his career. Especially 2004. But they probably chose 2004 because it was one of only two years in his career he was at least a league average hitter.
And yes, I’d bet the house that given the choice, any gm would choose current Corbin Carrol over prime Juan Pierre

Had to dumb down as to not make it too OP I'd imagine... also the Retro Finest if I'm not mistaken is from a specific season so if his hitting CON 125 is maxed out that tells me that other areas had to be sacrificed.

Retro finest are anything but dumbed down. Are you being sarcastic? If anything, they chose this specific type of card for Pierre, because any other type wouldn’t be a diamond. This man and Elvis Andrus both have career OPS+ in the 80s.

How many times had Pierre stole 100 or more bases in a season? I know I could look it up, but I am being lazy and I honestly am not sure if he has done it once. I am not knocking on Pierre, just an honest question.

Rickey Henderson has done it multiple times. I know it was a different game, but he is the greatest base stealer. I wasn’t aware it was that rare of a thing though. Yes, in 2004 he only had 45 SBs, but led the league in Games (all 162), PAs (748), ABs (678), Hits (221), 3Bs (12), and CS (24). That last one probably also a factor in the lower steal attribute rating! He led the league in CS in 7 different seasons!!!
