Meh, you’ll make that back, and in the end if you want the card and want to use the card and you have it what does it really matter?. I think he will be a good card to be honest, I usually do well with his card’s.

️I only play CPU so that does not bother me too much.
I will say though that this season his actual H/9 is 8.1 which translates into a 68 rating in the game on his live series card.
In 2013 he had a H/9 of 8.3 and they gave him an 85.
So the new card is 17 points better than his live series card even though he is actually doing better in H/9 so far this year.

He did give up almost a hit per inning in 2013. Don’t know why they chose that year. 2010 would been the best card, but still likely less than 100 h/9.

I just wish H/9 weren't such a monumental attribute like everyone says it is. Why is one attribute a make or break for a card? Or are we saying that on the highest levels of competition this won't play well but on other levels it fine? I never really understand as I play almost entirely offline? I get that 85 isn't great haha.

They aren’t unless you play online at a high level, mix well with him below CS online and you’re fine, offline he’s a beast. I will say it again, his SS card from ‘19 which was a 97 and had worse attributes than this was my favourite pitcher online and that was the year of Sig Kershaw and Ryan.

A high number of H/9 for the pitcher makes the PCI smaller for the hitter so as you play higher levels, it gets smaller and smaller making it harder to hit.

Oh I totally get that it is a BFD and why haha. I just wish that other attributes played as a big a role. Does anyone really care about K/9, BB/9, HR/9, control, stamina, break etc? I never hear anyone talk about anything but Outlier, H/9 and whether the pitcher has a sinker. It's a shame when there could be so many other ways to make a pitcher great but it seems to boil down to 3 things. Oh I guess deception which isn't an attribute but a factor nonetheless. Anyway, oh well. I think the card art is still cool.

It’s a shame it matters but it makes his PCI the size of a beach ball. Not to mention they only put good break on two of his pitches and he’s never been known for velocity. I tried this card and it’s not great unfortunately.

Don't feel bad... I did that last night with Willie Mays... I wanted him, but not for 480k. I decided to keep him instead of sell and lose 40k. I used to accidentally sell now instead of put up for sale last year and been great about taking my time this year and not doing that until late last night half asleep accidentally bought Mays.

People who don’t understand this attribute, probably use directional or timing hitting. Anyone know how H/9 affects the RNG of those hitting mechanics?

️Nothing will compare to his SS card from ‘19, can’t remember which content creator’s set of moments he was a reward for but he was one of my best pitchers that year. 20+ wins and 10 HR’s haha.
