.No doubt but we are already 5 months into the game and I'm pretty tired of being spoon fed all the Fake Stars and the weak Griffey (should have known he would be bad as easy as he was to get) Time for some real star players/legends

Funny how NO ONE has mentioned Ripken or Bench. Poor guys and their bad swing animations. The pick is easily Pedro no question. Personally I think they shouldn't have released a bad Griffey and Mantle. They should have just saved their best for later out of respect.

I Feel you they clearly saving the best for last. the best versions of Mantle,Griffey,Mays,Ruth,Hank,Gehrig,Pujols,Honus will all be the best position players in the game and are the most desirable ones for comp/End game.

I was wondering, this is early Pedro. Was he high-90s? I don't recall him every throwing 100s, but maybe it's not all that far off. I don't recall.

Even early Pedro never hit 100mph. He was a mid 90s guy early on and in Boston he averaged 90-93. I will take it though... Pedro was the man.

They seem to keep the contact low vs. righties. I noticed this earlier. I don’t know why they didn’t put a 99 in the boss pack. Everyone is going to pick Pedro just because he has outlier, at least the 99 Mantle would make for another usable choice. I’m not knocking on Bench or Ripken, they are just known to have swings that make them hard to use for a lot of people.

Everyone is going to pick Pedro just because he has outlier, at least the 99 Mantle would make for another usable choice. Exactly. I’m taking Pedro and buying Cal or vice versa. They can keep Bench I don’t even really want him. He would just sit on the bench anyway. Catch what I did there? Oh I did it again. Lol Plus I’m pretty much done with all collections. Just gotta get these few FOTF cards and I get Cutch. Then I’ll be done worrying about flipping cards and getting every card unless they do another collection.

Must have every legend and flashback card. There is no Alomar this year. Right now I was only missing Volpe until today. I'll wait till the bosses drop but for my official pick I'll go with Bench cause I feel like being different.
J/K Pedro all day long. They clearly wanted this to be a very popular card. He Randy and Nolan will be a nasty front end.

At least they’re trying to make the historically best players in baseball better with their game mechanics, Mo with just a cutter would be bad, Pedro with outlier will help him be dominate… The retro finests giving players slightly better numbers than they’d have otherwise, so I think it says a lot.

No, but they got juiced up to account for the fact that they were dominant pitchers in their time. But Pedro and Gibson were similarly dominant, so they should get it as well. I have Alomar in last year’s game, but I didn’t get my Vlad Jr. order to go through; at least when I had last checked. I’m not a completionist or anything, I just like to play with different cards. I don’t buy stadium sounds or every piece of equipment.
I still think it’s strange Pedro has outlier. I hope Maddux gets it too!

I had enough with collections. I know they had four last year, and they are helping get cards to people, even giving them away. Did they say 2 or 3 more are coming? I know you were probably just estimating, but I just want to make sure I didn’t miss something.

I hope Aaron’s 99 has a better swing than last year. I was pumped he was in the game, but he didn’t play well for me. Don’t forget Jimmy Foxx, Gehrig is my man at first unless I need a righty there, then it’s Foxx.

I like Gibson too, for some reason I thought he had a SS card in 19, but you are probably right. Anyway, I agree with you, as I have said in the past, the outlier quirk is no longer an actual outlier.
