Ahh yes because when I miss the ball with my pci I deserve a homerun. Or when I throw a perfect pitch for it to go outside my PAR. Or even better when I hit it good/good dead on for a lazy flyout it worse and infield pop up. Or when I throw cancel and my fielder is stuck like Clark from benchwarmers in the field.
Or when you still play a game that clearly frustrates you.
Sorry that I want a better game.
You say that like if you asked someone from the playerbase if they wanted a better game they would say no.
No, I just want a better game. Don’t you?
Yes, do you think this post is going to get us a better game?
Nope because we’re stuck in a community where we continue to eat whatever trash sandwich they give us. Definitely the last year of this game I’ll play.
Yes exactly, actions are louder then words, and the actions of a lot of people who complain on this forum is to play a ton, complain, play a ton, complain. It's a vicious cycle that is essentially the definition of insanity.
It’s precisely why I’m done. So I’m going to complain until this games life cycle is over. Because this is the last SDS game I buy.
But why continue to play if you don't enjoy it? To get your moneys worth? Well how much rage and disappointment do you have to endure to get that moneys worth?
It’s for my moneys worth and the fact there’s no other baseball game besides rbi which I will never play. Just gonna hope I can use MVP Altuve and MVP Pujols and that’s it. You might be able to give me joy with an 04 Beltran but that’s it.
But why does it matter if it's the only baseball game if it's not enjoyable?
I love baseball that’s why I continue to play. If there was an alternative I would’ve found it.
That doesn't answer the question though, I love burgers, but I'm not going to eat burgers just for the sake of eating burgers if it's a miserable experience
Like I said, I love baseball I want to have a baseball experience since I’m done with baseball in real life and have been for 5 years. I know it’s a bad game, but when it’s great and user input is working right for both opponents yeah it’s a good time. But when it’s rng mid yeah I come on here to complain. It’s my last year I don’t really care what I get anymore, I don’t even play ranked because it’s just an extra 6 innings of more rng. If you’re wondering why I hate it, but continue to play it. It solely is because there’s no other baseball game I can have a competitive head to head in. That’s honestly why
I just literally don't understand the mindset of making yourself miserable on purpose. I played the CoD WW2 game a lot, but with all the new weird skins like terminator and stuff and the fact that I'm an average at best player, I stopped enjoying it so I stopped playing. And while yes there are other FPS options out there, I'm not playing them either bc I stopped having fun.
Again so what if it's the only baseball game? If it's a bad experience, it's a bad experience and coming back to it and wasting time and mental health on something that clearly bothers you so much is weird to me, I'll never understand the mindset.
I don’t get it either. I feel it’s more of an addiction problem rather than “just loving baseball”. When I’m sick of the BS, I go do something else. The gym, beach, hike, especially since it’s summer. Unlimited number of things you can do right now besides play this game. If you don’t love the game, don’t waste your time playing it. People act like they’re trapped and have no choice. It’s pretty silly really.
Well it is the case because I love baseball and am good at the game. That’s truly why I come back, again it doesn’t matter since I’m done when the games cycle is.
I love baseball and am good at the game too but I wouldn’t be doing something in my free time that I complain about regularly just because of those things. To each their own though. It’s your life. I’ll just never understand it.
But you complain as well though Geno. You actually have agreed on points I’ve made too. I’ll be honest, if I was trash, I would never play online and wouldn’t be on the forum. It’s not an addiction because I’ve dropped this game on my own will and came back when I wanted too not because I needed a kick or anything like that. I’m just gonna ride it out because I paid for it and I know I’m not paying for next years game so might as well voice my opinion and hope one of the devs see it and maybe have a better game for some of the people on here next year.
I do agree with a lot of your frustrations. It’s the worst game they’ve put out that I’ve played (I skipped 18 thankfully). But at a certain point you have to realize how you’re spending your time. Getting SDS to change isn’t going to come from making posts like this, it will come from a dip in time players are spending on the game, and less people spending money on stubs. Especially when they have made it very clear they are going to do whatever they want.
Spend your time doing something that you enjoy. If that’s this game, then great. Unfortunately these posts will have no influence on what SDS does. They’ve made that very clear. I just don’t want you to drag yourself through a summer of frustration playing it if you aren’t having fun. Life’s too short for that.

You love baseball but don’t play OOTP or SMB?

You’re absolutely right man, I shouldn’t really be all this invested when nothing is going to change and next years prolly won’t be better. But I can’t lie Geno I’ve made my mind up and just want to end my 6 year DD journey by at least finishing one last year.
And I appreciate you’re advice too. I do and thank you for it. -
I’m just glad it’s out on XBox now.
Anyone remember the abomination MLB 2k13?
It’s all a matter of perspective -

Y'all should exchange phone numbers LOL looks like eatyum is getting some good drugs from his Psychiatrist if he can turn it on and off that easily. J/K of course. I think all that is being asked is to make a game that works as it should. 16 & 17 had the best online hitting engines (maybe even include 15 in that) but if nobody who has played those games thinks that 22 is good is just kidding themselves. Every year since 18 we are told that the game is going to be better and it just isn't. I think the expectations that we believe what we are told (human nature to trust what people say) is as much or more to blame for the frustration as the gameplay is. I may be way off but may be right as well.
Geno you make some very good points too. Thanks for posting that.

By whose definition of "works as it should" do we go by?
Because for most people, including myself, "works as it should" is actually closer to "works as I would like it to".

To me (and IMO) 16 & 17 worked as intended. I know there was bunt cheese in 16 and just late in 17 but I would take either of those games before anything after. I enjoyed playing online with those editions much more than any other. So maybe you are right by definition but I sure liked them better. They were at least fair and you didn't have 10 pitch at bats.
