Still alive and well.....can't kill it no matter what....up 3-1 in MTO and bam an inside pitch in the dirt for a homerun. Complete bs. Next game down a run with two outs and bam fly ball to left.....guy ran around with his head cut off...lost by one, game four up by three....slow dribbler that beat the shift , groundball that pulled guy off bad, then nothing but low outside pitches to Matt Olsen who drives one out the park to tie the game....off a fresh pitcher. Comeback city code tonight.

Up 1-0 in a RS game in 5th inning. Oswalt cruising along. All of a sudden against TA Soto I'm missing the high sinker by feet on good release. Of course later in the at-bat another good release gets hung and sails out of the park. It definitely felt like there was nothing I could have done differently with that at-bat. It was like the game was going to give him a run no matter what.

But that's assuming hanging pitches are caused by that, when in reality good release hanging pitches happen all the time, winning or losing.

Thought we were playing a video game in which our input/skill should be what determines the outcome? Not what happened one time in real baseball.

We should be, I don't ever remember arguing otherwise. Why do you always come to my posts assuming I'm defending the game?

That post is quite the opposite, I note that winning or losing, good releases are hung, which shouldn't happen.

I apologize, just irritates me when people compare what happens in real life to video games. When they do that, they’re basically admitting the game is following a script put in place to replicate real life outcomes, regardless of what the player does.

I get that, I irritates me to, but I never mentioned anything about real life outcomes unless you misread me saying "in reality good release hanging pitches happen all the time", I didn't mean reality as in real word.

What I meant was, it's not some comeback code, hanging pitches happen whether I'm winning or losing in game.

I agree that good pitches also end up being hung from time to time, but my suspicion was the sudden wild inaccuracy that led up to that moment. I was hitting corner after corner, and then bam! Wild pitch, wild pitch, hanger for a HR. Then he immediately gained his poise back and started painting corners again.

Wrong. They are trying to simulate real baseball. Only fools think it is just about it being a video game. If u want an arcade game then get an xbox where they have several for you.

No that is not what they are doing. They are saying baseball is not an exact science where only your input makes a difference.

You want simulation baseball where the game controls the outcomes regardless of your input, play offline. In online play it’s PvP, that means it should be literally what that means PLAYER VS PLAYER....without the simulation garbage having an influence. Unfortunately players like you are getting your wish and that’s why this game is trash online 3 years in a row now.

I wish that were true. But they are making input as close to 100% as they can while still having baseball integrity and realistic outcomes. Again, find an arcade game that is player vs player. You would have the same pitcher 100% of the time and the same hitters so nothing but input matters. If you don't want the cards to matter then why have them?

SDS

IF YOU DO NOT WANT CARDS TO MATTER AND ONLY WANT INPUT TO MATTER THEN WHY HAVE CARDS AT ALL?!!! Find a generic game with no cards and play that! You guys collect cards even using real money so that you have a better team then you complain that the cards you have make a difference.

I’m sorry to disagree with you but this game is far from realistic. I really wish that post from last year written by a former MLB Scout wasn’t deleted, it explained in detail how far off the numbers are between real baseball and this game.

Card attributes can determine input difficulty (eg meter size and speed, size of ‘good’ zone, PCI size, swing speed etc). There are a whole range of things that can be varied that the attributes can have an effect on.

Do you want the best players to have their cards hitting 0.800 and poor players to have all of their cards hitting .100? Is that what you are looking for? To dominate? Or do you want semi-realistic batting averages for your players while still being competitive? You are asking for a miracle. In no way can input be the only thing that matters and for the game to be even close to realistic. What you want could lead to commons having 80 home runs every 500 ABS while Micky Mantle has 5 HRs over 500 ABs. People would be outraged that the cards they worked so hard to get make little difference. The only people arguing for total input outcomes are the best players who cannot stand losing now and then. You become outraged because you think that you should never lose. You are the best right? Losing is not an option! You are pathetically transparent in what you desire. Of course input should be the primary thing that affects the outcome of games, but the player cards cannot simply shrink the PCI, they must matter also in order for the game to be successful.

SDS

I had a guy at first, hit a shot in the gap and he stopped in between first and second base. He wouldn’t move at all, I’m hitting the buttons to make him run and nothing, he gets tagged out. Next at bat double play and I lost the game in MTO to go to game 5 of the World Series.
It’s irritating when this stuff happens but lately I’ve been shrugging it off and saying [censored] happens. Lord knows I’ve seen people I’ve played online get hosed from time to time so what goes around comes around

Never said that’s what I wanted, just making a suggestion.

Please don’t call me pathetic. We should having a constructive conversation. Find any post in this or any forum in which I am ‘outraged’ and I’ll be more than happy to concede that I have a problem with losing. In fact only the other day I posted on OS that my RTTS pitcher is getting hammered and I’m loving every minute of it! I don’t play online, at least not yet so I’m not about the virtual record.

Now enough about me, what I was implying that the various card attributes can change the difficulty of a play, in the same way that having baserunners (as a pitcher with meter) speeds up the meter, or the yellow accuracy bar gets wider when your pitcher is more confident. There are many ways such as these that the input accuracy can be made more difficult.

Need video! To quote Nick Livingstone ‘slam that share button’ and upload to YouTube. This sort of thing can be bug reported. Video evidence strengthens the report, otherwise it could get lost in the ‘no proof’ basket with all the made up stuff.

Not like the stuff will get fixed anyways. I just laugh at the BS when it happens now. I go into every game expecting something stupid so if it doesn’t I get a nice surprise
