Card overall pace is much better and the game pretty much plays the same, just more diving plays. Why do you think 21 was that much better?

Depends. The grind is much worse on here. Harder to make stubs and costs more to get cards. No live series choice packs to make collection easier. No team affinity to get all cards, so horrible grind.
The servers though are way better so at least the game is playable

No way are cards more expensive this year maybe the gatekeeper cards but other wise cards from all game modes are less expensive.
