This game is atrocious. How in the world do you manage to have offline modes lag just as bad as online and the pitchers in moments will dot corners on rookie or flat out walk you. SDS should surrender the MLB license and do the right thing. They are not capable nor do they have the skills to make a good baseball game.
Still better then EA
is it though mate?
you can download FIFA 2022 for free, play with your friends, $0 need to be spent to play all of the teams - several of the modes are solid
look at SDS 2022 - the game is falling apart trying to appease all types of system users
This may come off sounding condescending. I don't mean it to. I apologize if it does.
It's soccer for an American audience. No thank you.
They screwed up the first football game that resonated with fans and gamers. I'm both and loved the game from Madden 92 on my genesis until 19 or 20 when I was so fed up with pay to win I couldn't do it anymore. Add that to a customer service team that was known to call you a liar and hang up on you for not getting stuff you grinded or paid for.
I have always been a football and baseball fan. I want to play the sports I love without the headaches from the company I loathe. From everything I've seen from 2K, EA, and SDS, I'll take SDS every time. I actually see the changes that people ask for in this forum. EA's answer is to have you tickle their sack while they do what they want, then be happy that you have to spend $300 a week to stay competitive. There are two types of EA players: Those that hate them and people that just started playing.
If you love your sport, there's a good chance EA will change your opinion of it. I never missed a game during the NFL season. Sundays I'd wake up at 9 am for kickoff at 9:30. Watch three full games on Sunday and one on Monday. Even started watching on Thursday when that started. I can't even watch it anymore. I hear 2K is supposed to be coming out with an arcade style Football game. I'll get it. I hope it brings back my want of the game.
This year, I got MLB.TV for the first time and I watched every game I could find last year. I haven't done that in a decade. The MLB is exciting again. SDS did that. I tried NBA 2K and basketball just isn't my sport. Basketball and Soccer, to me, is just running around for an hour. I was thinking about getting PES a few years ago, but thought better of it. Considering it's not around anymore, I made the right choice.
Just out of curiosity, how far into FIFA season is it? Pure speculation is that it's almost over. Probably trying get some more victims before the new one comes out. It's marketing, so I don't begrudge them that.
Looked it up. End of September. So a little later than I thought. Four months. If they are anything like Madden, it's only one month of real content. Then something similar to the 10th/11th inning program for the next two months.
This is why I agree with the statement. "Still better than EA."
If you had to spend $300 a week to stay competitive in Madden... you are terrible at the game. I spent $100 for the deluxe version and a $50 gift card at Christmas and ended the year 88-42 on legend in H2H seasons this year. I agree EA is greedy as it gets... but to say SDS is better as a game is a joke... because at least EA spends money on good servers, I didn't have a single dropped game loss this year in Madden and this game I've played like 25 or so ranked games and had like 4 freeze offs already. You guys can say what you want about EA but the game plays 10x smoother online than this game... that's very important to me when deciding what company should and shouldn't be making sports games. This game could be great if online played like offline and there wasn't such random outcomes from hitting.
I didn't spend $300, but there were plenty that did. I stopped playing the cheesers on seasons and concentrated on WL. More stuff, fewer games. I typically finished in the 20-22/25 in wins. I wasn't NMS, but not too much over. If you play as much as you profess, you know that the latest speedy quarterback that cost in the millions in the AH can be just enough to put you over the edge. Tyreek Hill early on in the season can turn a close game into a blowout. Those 20 WL wins could have turned into 25. I refused to do that, and that's my point.
SDS is making a concerted effort, where EA will not. Hey, if you love EA, great. They are supposed to be coming out with an MLB game in a couple of years. I will give it a chance, but it will be the same EA lack of customer service. I'll trust SDS to listen to what needs to be done instead of EA turning a blind eye until there's a national campaign to fix their broken game. It's probably the MLB that's making SDS do multiple platforms. That's their prerogative. SDS is behind on that, where EA already has the infrastructure. SDS will catch up.
MUT is no different than this game in that aspect though. It's not free to have Randy Johnson early on here either. Football is different where a 99 Tyreek against an all 88-90 defense is unstoppable and a single Baseball player on a team at 99 before everyone else can still only do so much to contribute. I wish MUT mode was more like DD mode, but the servers are miles behind MUT... that's my biggest issue with The Show. Like I keep saying... I just hope the EA competition forces SDS to upgrade servers and I will stay with The Show regardless of what game EA makes. If EA makes a baseball game and these servers are still crappy... I will want to try the EA version of Baseball for sure.
That makes since. I'm going to try it too. I will not buy it until I've tried it first though and probably not until the price drops as well. I don't remember a problem with MLBTS freezing up a couple years ago. Which is why I think the MLB is forcing them to do multiple platforms quickly. It's too much on fewer servers. They were doing just fine when 2K was still in baseball, sales wise. They have to be in the process of fixing that. I fully agree that competition is always best, for anything. Brings down prices and produces a superior product. I also feel 2K getting back into football will make Madden a better game as well. The big difference, for me, is that I'll buy the 2K football sooner than EA baseball. I miss playing football...and I now have a PS5... It's good talking to you, I like this kind of back and forth.
