No of corse not, every other online sports game does... but not sds. They would never move stuff around behind the scenes to insure bad players are ablr to be competitive, thus keeping them interested in the game, thus keeping another avenue of potential profit engaged and playing.
You wouldn't go spending money on stubs if you are constantly getting beat. On the flip side you would be less willing to spend money if you were winning most of your games.
This is a problem for the middle class of gamers. The players that are truly terrible are going to be terrible regardless, and the goons are going to win mpst of their games no matter what. So these algorithms and such are for those of us in the middle. We are the cash cow. They rely on the average gamers but cater to the terrible and amazing gamers.
Just my thinking. People will shout you down and smear you as a conspirator, but these sports games all want that EA money, and EA has admitted to using and even patented systems designed to help out lesser players/teams.
I thought EA's line is that they don't touch the online play with any of the DDA? Nobody believes them but that's a far cry from EA admitting it.
They said they have the code and patent for DDA, but don't use it in the game at all. Do you really believe they would create, code, and patent something without using it? Think of the money spent on FIFA and Madden every year (over a billion) in microtransactions, and imagine how happy the people spending that money would be if it was found out difficultly is adjusted each game without your control. It's like believing a stranger in your house when you come home from work saying "I didn't break in... I thought it was my freinds house". My point is of course it's in the game.... they only admitted to coding and patenting it, because it's public info that can't be hidden. That lawsuit wasn't won by EA either.... it was settled outside of court and dismissed.

I have never played Madden outside of exhibition style games against my son, but I am a firm believer that all of these companies including EA and SDS can code these games to generate random/scripted/balanced gameplay without using patented DDA technology. I think if you have played The Show long enough you can tell that there are just weird things that take place and they are much stranger on the Diamond Dynasty side than on the Franchise/Online Rated side.
I know some people claim SDS isn't talented enough to code certain things, but I don't think it is super hard to code randomness. The few times I have done basic coding, I dealt with a lot of random outcomes in the process. With the show, take 125 attributes, attributes like "clutch", "BB/9", "stamina", "durability", etc. and then add in components like "pitcher confidence" and you are probably going to have some random things start developing before even worrying if you need to take things further.

I hate EA as much as the next guy, don't worry. Stopped playing Madden long, long ago (still miss NCAA football) but played FIFA off and on over the past few years. There are definitely issues in that game. And I think it's possible EA developed all the DDA stuff long before ultimate team was even a thing. They used to promote it as part of the vs CPU experience where the cpu would get better as you improve. I also understand all the reasons it makes sense to have it in ultimate team even if I haven't quite drunk that kool-aid. It's why I enjoy sports games but in no way think of the them as serious, competitive e-sports games.

Do they nerf the higher rated team in RS? Just curious what everyone’s thoughts are on this. Thanks!
I've thought of this, and is why I am considering take the NBA 2k route and putting commons on my bench and in my pen just to see lol
