Dude it happens when you play a game for years. I recommend taking 1-2 years off from it. I know it’s tough to do, but the long break will do you good. I did this with MUT. I basically took 21 and 22 off with occasionally playing it but never getting submerged in it. I’ve been playing MUT since 2015, so years as well. Now I’m actually excited for MUT 23. Been having fun playing the beta of all things.
I second this. I didn’t buy 22 because of many similar reasons. I took a long break and now occasionally play 21 very casually.
Life is way too short to be unhappy playing a video game you don’t enjoy!
hard to skip a year when they give it to you fr
If 22 WAS free, I’d probably play it at this point. It’s not though, and even discounted, it was more than I want to spend for a roster update.

My biggest gripe is the moments flooding into all the programs. I can't do it. They are so mind numbing and frustrating. I just want to play regular games and compile stats. I'd rather go back to the old style of those player arcs or whatever. Do we really need 7000 moments to do?

It ain’t that serious man. If you don’t enjoy it, don’t play it
That's one of the most difficulty concepts to grasp in the video game community. Pretty sure their spirit animals are flies that soar head first into bug zappers on someone's back porch.

I have so many player missions to do, that I never even use my main/best players anymore. No idea why I even grind for them. I complete their XP and never use them again.

I like trying out new players that I'd never even consider if not for the XP missions. If I can make progress towards something by playing a normal game of baseball, I'm happy. Moments feel pointless and empty.

This is the insanity I’m talking about.
You feel a compulsion to complete some useless aspect of the program, so you’re not spending your gaming time optimally by doing whatever it is you prefer to do, RS, BR, etc and in the manner that puts you in the best position to be competitive by using your best players. You’re subservient to the program and it’s not even remotely worth it.

That's a good point when you put it that way. Helps me also evenly parallel a few other players too and give everyone almost a full parallel head start when I do their XP.
Also there's time's when I'll dedicate a solid 20 minutes to re-doing one moment and think, I coulda had a game or 2 done by now for conquest or mini-seasons.

There’s just nothing fun about it any longer. The grinding is all tedious and constantly repeated. The conquest is brutally repetitive. The programs are all the same thing over and over.
The pitching is far too easy to control, making virtually anyone capable of giving up only a fluke homer here and there but otherwise dominating most offenses, especially at mid levels of RS.
And the hitting is next to impossible when guys can constantly dot corners and edges with ridiculous breaking balls and impossibly quick fastballs, and I’m on a 1ms response monitor.
And when you do get a good contact, the fielders can now make ridiculous diving plays consistently.
Addiction is a hard thing to break, we come back again and again to play a game that drives us crazy and largely wastes our time, we have become insane because of it.
This game is the only thing I complain about in life. It makes me a worse person. I’ve been playing for so many years that it’s a tough thing to break, I want to so badly. The past two years especially have truly sucked for the show franchise. It has never felt worse.
Sounds like you have daddy issues. You’re real problem is your hate for your father. Not MLB the Show
You corny AF bruh.

Baseball fans want to play baseball video games. End the single license monopoly and people could choose what they do. As it stands, their options are this game or no game at all. There is no “community”, there is a single option, and that option is slowly dying.
They didn’t go multi platform and make the game free for a huge portion of the player base because they’re doing great financially…..
