People are getting a little stupid now with the prices on the Market

LMAO I saw Jason Bay selling for 93K. Seriously, you can get enough 2nd Half cards for the big collection without spending that amount of stubs on a card clearly not worth even close to that. Good news for me is hopefully I can sell him really high if people actually bite on that price. But if you are selling cards like that for THAT much above what people are willing to pay, you're going to miss out on the Market rush and the stub making. You have to do it within high but reasonable prices or you are just going to get burned by others who will sell now at a profit but less than a ridiculous price. I really only need a handful of cards to have all of the collections and have had the entire LS since the early access period but I just think it is bad strategy to go so high. Better for me though, I can sell a bit higher than I had planned.

I want to sell my Bay now but that activity the last hour seems sketchy. Last thing I want is to sell and then get banned for some unkown reason.

That's what I mean. I would try to sell at the highest buy now price if that would be profit for you. Putting it up for 93K could get you in trouble I think. When I get home from work and see what the collection is doing to the market then I will evaluate what cards to sell and at what price. I know cards will inflate but probably not like that.

The market is going to break this weekend, if you were fortunate enough to stock up on the collection cards, you're going to be rich with stubs by close of business Sunday night.

There's nothing fishy about cards spiking like that as the Big One approaches, especially cards from historically tricky categories (Prime, 2HH).

Nah, I think it's greed but people are going to want to make stubs fast so they will start selling at lower prices. We'll see. I could make a few million stubs this weekend but I think I wanna do the collection......I should still be able to make out well with duplicates and extra cards depending on how many each collection requires,

Fair enough. I just can't get motivated to work the market this year. I'm kinda done with "the game within the game."

I don't think anything fishy is going on with Bay. He is a BR reward that you can no longer get in the BR pack, so supply has dried up. I tried to buy him about a week ago, but there was little to no movement, so I decided to just wait for a rewind pack. People will likely overpay later to get Brett faster if necessary.

I agree that nothing sketchy is going on with Bay. Just as @PennStateFencer said, he is no longer in the BR pack and I assume there is less out there than the other 1st season BR cards like Chipper, Pedro, etc. When I bought my Bay about six weeks ago it was much harder to buy him than the other BR cards, just because less people had picked him. BR should be getting rewind packs before long and it should bring him back in line with those others. Similar happened with Schmidt last year.

prices will rise with the hype but once the collection comes out and most of the casuals realize they are no where near the requirements for the collection and dont have near enough stubs to complete there will be a sell off evening things out.

That was due to the Gehrig program. There are points available for a Royals exchange and there just isn't a ton of diamond/gold/silver Royals cards out there. Yankees cards shot up as well, but not to the same degree.

Ahh, I was wondering! That makes sense. We need more programs with optional exchange missions, especially TA exchanges. I made a little profit off the Royals last night.

I expect to have more cards than necessary for Brett in some categories (but not dupes).
Is the right move to sell this surplus this weekend?
I'm sure I'll need to rebuy eventually for the next collection, but they should slowly drop in price the next few weeks, right?
