new to the 120hz group

hey all, so I finally got a new tv that offers 120hz, and I got it set up today for the first time for mlb 22. my question do I just immediately go back to 60hz ( I assume by setting 120hz on my ps5 to off) since my few games today had the choppiest game ive ever had with me not being able to hit, throw the ball without an error, or pitch a single strike? I played a few BR and event games and even shut off cross play. any ppl who have a longer experience thoughts would be appreciated! thanks
