What exactly is bad about fielding? Don’t take this the wrong way or don’t think that my players haven’t ever made an error, but could you be more specific? Is this just an RS issue (as I haven’t played RS yet-just custom leagues, BR and events online)?
Just asking an honest question
The problem happens both offline and online. Everything from fielders just standing there not even trying to field the ball, fielders not reacting to the ball, balls going through fielders without even raising their glove, weird awkward animations. Base running is also janky ...... it's just messy
Now you're complaining about base running...will it ever end?
Yes
When?
As soon as I throw my PS4 through the window..LOL!

Fielders, especially but not limited to, outfielders not locking onto balls has been actually a bigger problem since the last patch. Yesterday was the absolute worst I’ve seen it the last 4 years. It’s hard to swallow the bad fielding when you’re playing offline and the computer is playing superhuman even on Rookie. It’s often hard to tag up, steal bases, or score from second with fast runners on deep balls sometimes. Balls hit deep into the hole at short with the fielder’s momentum carrying towards the foul pole get picked and thrown to 1B seemingly before the ball even touches the fielders hand. That brings me to another thing, mediocre fielders in the MLB are unable to make consistently so many bare hand plays, especially from the SS position deep in the hole. Love the game, but how about letting a person-controlled player make some of these superhuman plays sometimes? And I’m talking about a diamond fielder compared to a computer-controlled bronze or silver fielder sometimes.

For some reason I think this may be falling on deaf ears. There is no way they cant see these issues if they actually play the game.
-
I haven’t seen any outfielders not lock into an animation (not that it isn’t happening) but I’ve seen some pretty routine grounders get booted (which I’m fine with). I think the big problem with these little “boots” is that they almost always lead to runs because the inning gets extended (which I know happens IRL).
I have noticed that some base runners (even decent ones like diamond Grandy) take FOREVER to get back to a base after rounding it.

SDS needs to address these problems... I have confidence they will

Fielding is so ridiculously bad. Dont know how can they make it worse than before. I mean the show 19 was decent but now it just really poor.

Show 19 is good now, but it had the same issues earl on so I'm surprised it's reared it's head again.. Who knows, maybe they tried a new system of some sort, but they definitely need to fix it again...
-
The thing with Show 19 was that reaction played a huge role, once everyone was using diamond fielders most of the problems kind of went away.
Anyway, has anyone else had an issue with players going a different direction than you're pressing? I've got Ortiz playing first and more than once I've pushed left to go get a pop up and he starts running straight up.

Im sure they will fix it eventually. There is a lot going on right now and they must stay 6 feet away from each other
