I think this is what has everyone all out of sorts is the layout. The game used the same system for 3 years now the changed it and clearly people don't like change but if you played 16, 17, 18 and into 19 it was a different structure each year

I am not sure why people are so upset by this year's structure as the amount of cards is pretty much the same. Yes if you do the math the likely hood is there is less packs given away between the programs from 21 to 22 but what are we taking about really a bunch of TA packs that most of us got nothing from.
21 programs - TA 1, 2 inning programs and April POTM
TA 1 gave 30 88 overall Diamond cards for each team not sellable and 30 gold legend and flashback cards
2 inning programs gave 6 bosses, 6 classic cards and 6 gold or Dimond henchmen
TA gave 1 lighting card and no sellable monthly award cards
2022 - 2 featured programs and Monthly Awards
Featured Program 1 - 30 cards available 12 were achieved via reward path 6 sellable, 30 gold legend and flashback cards
Featured Program 2 - 5 boss cards 2 are reward via the bath, 3 classic cards, 6 gold legend and flashback cards
Monthly Awards 1 lighting card and 1 legend lightning card.
Additionally the other programs so far is pretty much the same.
To me the number of cards to earn is the same sure you weren't given 30 free TA cards but how many of TA 1 cards did you actually truly use maybe 12? The same number they gave away....
If we are strictly talking about the number of packs is less ok sure there is less packs however it hasn't impacted the market as it's easier to scoop up cards this year I find off the market that last year would have been 3x the price. I don't see nearly as many issue with the amount of content as many on here want to make it out to be.
In reality SDS has packed more cards into less programs as 21 required 9 programs with 37 diamond cards and 22 has had 3 programs with 37 cards. If you think this is SDS taking programs away from use then we're was the uproar from 20 to 21 when we went from 30 TA programs to 6 that's a loss of 24 programs but that's ok?
You've all said that we got 30 cards? I see 12 in my collection and I finished the first program with weeks to spare. No I didn't use all of the 42s from last year. I think I used Keston Hiura a little longer than the others, because 2nd was lacking at the beginning, but I had all 30 and I think 4? of the other 12 at first. I concede that those 12 90 ovr were fine. Those added with 88 Johnson, 88 cover Tatis, and 88 Henderson (purchased with stubs from mvp edition) was the team I used to beat the conquest map---twice. I also purchased stubs to by packs in the store. Not against that, just will not shell out EA money anymore. Used those packs to do my live sets and sold the extras to invest and finish the sets. Still with weeks to spare.
The next 3 weeks I only played MTO and RTTS. Almost finished all my equipment sets. Half done with Archetype upgrades. Oh yeah, I also did both new conquests and finished mini seasons in the last week. Over halfway done with the new program and I'm back to only playing MTO and RTTS. With 2 1/2 weeks to spare.
There are fewer cards you can get without having to spend stubs. If you wanted I still hate PvP because you will get some kid that glitches or someone much better than you that has no problem letting you know it by message. One of the things I still like about this is offline play. I will keep playing, but I'm disappointed that, yes, there is less content.
Last year I started about a week after launch and didn't catch up until after the all star break. I also didn't play MTO at all or much RTTS until then. It didn't feel like a chore to do moments. In my earlier response, I meant those 5 boss cards are useful cards not the collectable. I only have use for one though. My point is that, as of now, there have only been 17 cards put out in the programs for most daily players teams that you don't need to use money or spend hours flipping cards to get. I'm not counting any of the online play. If you are one of those that can go undefeated online, god bless you. I'm not one, but I spent my money to buy this game too. I even spent extra with the expectation that the basic principles of the game were still going to be there. The onus is on me for the last part...doesn't mean it should be.

We are getting less than half the content. The "Featured Program" is equivalent to the innings. There are 2 more bosses, but we are already getting cards being repeated and the loss of 30 new team specific cards every other inning. Topps now is no longer sellable, so if you are an offline player it's harder to earn stubs to purchase players you can only get from PvP play. I didn't think of inning 11 as a new content because it was all old content re-bundled. That being said, if the current programs continue there will be 120 fewer new useable cards (cards that might actually end up in your lineup.) That's not even including the decent cards you would get from player programs and daily moments. There is a huge difference between usable and collectable content. IMO there is only one useable card in the new featured program. The rest is only collectable. The worst part is going to be the lack of cards for teams with fewer legends. Arizona, Colorado, Tampa, Miami, KC (we already get 20 Salvador Perez cards a year, but no Bo.) The first two featured programs are 4 weeks then 3 weeks. Assuming they stay at three weeks and there are ten total like previous years were are looking at finishing all new content by Dec/Jan just like MLBTS21. No. There is nowhere near enough content.
I think I'm in the minority when I say I like what they've done to RTTS and MTO, but I can't stand DD this year. I feel like I wasted money on the MVP edition. I might as well have just waited until the price was under $30. I will not preorder next year, I don't need the heartache. It makes me wonder if SDS was getting too ambitious with making this available to switch as well as trying to make this year more friendly to next gen consoles. Is that why it's so bad?
The problem with making a product for baseball fans is that most of us love statistics.
"Less than half the content" is a tired argument at this point. First 2 featured programs have had 35 "bosses". The equivalent of 1 team affinity and 2 inning programs more or less. The packs at the end if the current featured programs cut the gap significantly to be closer to what team affinity had last year(although still not quite there yet). Player programs have been pretty much on par. Topps now cards are sellabke, as are the ones for the monthly program so I'm not sure where you are going there. The only thing really missing is the main boss and 2 evo programs from daily moments, which many thought daily moments were a waste of time last year anyhow
I'm sorry, you got 35 without having to purchase 21 of them? I would say that's pretty tired. That and people thinking that 14 and 35 are the same thing. That's a tired argument. The condescension is not appreciated.

MTO seems to be the best. If you hit a lot of home funs you can get about 100k exp in a full day. not sure on the per hour, but if you play on beginner-rookie you will get around 40k exp just from MTO extra points. Add 1-3K per game if you're slamming them out of the park on a regular basis.
RTTS isn't as much, but you earn more stubs. You can play as the 1B do all fielding and (if you're better than me, not hard) steal as often as you can, you can level up your archetypes pretty fast. Every step gives 2-5K exp.
Right now, I'm on season 2 of playing as the Os in MTO. It's a lot of fun.

Ahh so you confirmed my suspicion. You just want free cards. You don't care how they are released. Newsflash man team affinity 3 broke MLB 21 for the rest of the year. Giving people every card in the game for logging in is not a good thing. This years format still allows for NMS players to be competitive, they just have to make choices. MLB 21 was a massive spoil job. There quite literally wasn't anyway for content to move up from 21. A full reset is a good call

You've confirmed my suspicion, you're a huge tool. If you like getting less than half the cards even though you bought this year game expecting it to be similar to every other year, good for you. 32:14 That's the ratio between good cards earned last year vs this year.
I'd prefer to work for it. Unfortunately, doing what little work there is makes this game boring very quickly. I have no problem spending money if it's worth it. This year, it's not. Yes, I do want cards for completing objectives. Giving us exp instead is just dumb. Play for a few hours a day and you'll complete the "featured program." What am I going to do with the other 2 weeks of a 3 week program? A full reset was literally a bad idea. This looks like a money grab. I get it, EA is breathing down their necks. The first couple of years EA is going to be more like SDS was. Then crank it up after they have a solid following. SDS will have already made this game pay to play. I hate EA. After this year people like me will be alright with trying it. That runs the risk of people saying MLBTS is nowhere as good as EA baseball.
Once again: I didn't catch up to the devs until after the all star break.

Last year: program 1: 1 of 3 henchman 1 of 3 boss
Program 2: 1 of 3 henchman 1 of 3 boss
TA 1: 30 henchman 30 boss ( long program though many didnt have done by end of inning 2)
This year: program 1. : 30 of 30 henchman 12 of 30 boss
program 2: 5 of 5 henchman 3 of 5 classics 2 of 5 boss and 12 of 30 of program 1 henchman.
(cant remem when they started classics last year but if they were in inning 1 and 2 it was a 1 of 3 choice)
liked the programs last year( until ta3 broke the game) like the programs this year. -
The worst content since souvenirs. Play how you want is dead. It’s play these exact moments then do these exact missions and will give you the option to skip 1 of whichever you choose, then repeat this process for everything we release all year.
None of it is skill based either, just about hitting the power button and mindlessly doing the same thing over and over and then some idiot is like Oh yoU WAnT EvEryThiNg FoR FreE I knEw iT. No, this is free, this is chores that SDS gives you an allowance for doing, this content is fortnite battle pass easy. Adding any sort of challenge to anything would be a great place to start. At this point DD is for 10 or 55 year olds.
