Your favorite starting pitcher, reliever, and hitter?
-
This is not necessarily who is your best guys, more so who do you do well with, enjoy using, and are most confident with. I'll give my top-3 for each:
Starting Pitchers
1.) Dontrelle Willis - Don't know what it is specifically but his delivery does feel really good to me. He's one of the few pitchers I can naturally just hit perfects every time with Pinpoint pitching (I just switched from Meter a few weeks ago).2.) Chris Sale - This one is easy for me to understand, it's just a ton of experience using Sale each year. As a White Sox fan, there were many years where I'd win the Cy Young with him in my Franchises and since The Show 15, I've been a DD guy and Sale is usually one of my first "big" purchases I make each year.
3.) Brandon Woodruff - He's someone I bought early after pulling Corbin Burnes near launch and I thought he'd just be one of the many cards you buy just to get a collection done and never use beyond a few innings. Well, about 14 starts later, I still do well with him. I love his delivery and the way his pitches move. He's sneaky good.
Relief Pitchers
1.) Adam Ottavino - I have always loved Ottavino as a BR pick but we finally got a diamond version of him and man, is this year's version dominant and fun to use. Even though I have a few higher rated relievers, he stays in my pen.2.) Josh Hader - Every year in DD, the first purchase I make is getting Live Series Aroldis Chapman but with Chapman not starting out as a diamond this year, I had to go with the new sheriff in town when it comes to lefty Live Series relievers, Josh Hader. Not only do I love his delivery but the fact that he now throws a change-up has made him a viable and in my opinion, elite option out of the pen.
3.) Steve Cishek - This was a card I had to have when I saw it drop. Always a big fan of Cishek in The Show and in real-life. He isn't dominating by any means, but it's fun to use him and set up sequences and tunnels. I'm looking forward to getting the Spring Cleanup Zack Britton, as he's usually my favorite reliever (also love Rob Dibble cards) more often than not.
Hitters
1.) Jose Ramirez - He was my first Live Series diamond bat I went out and bought and he's still in my lineup and even hitting second. I usually like his cards but don't love them. This year, I'm raking with him (.442 avg).2.) Jim Thome - And coincidentally, the Guardians Live Series reward has been my most productive hitter with a .532 BA, 11 HRs, and six doubles in 77 at-bats. I play Thome ahead of Prince Fielder, Cody Bellinger, and Josh Bell.
3.) Mookie Betts - Mookie has been insane for me, even after the huge downgrade he received in the first update. In 77 at-bats, he's got a .481 batting average, 12 homeruns, 11 doubles, and an OPS of 1.565. I can't wait until we get a high-90s Mookie again.
Honorable Mentions: Cedric Mullins, Chase Utley, and Yasmani Grandal
