I suggest we now use the term Baby Billy… He's not a baby, he's a slender silver haired man in his late 60's. And he would equally suck at playing the Show online!

Nothing to say about all the bs that’s been shared for your own eyes to see huh? Figures…every year is the same. We are conspiracy theorist until you can see it for yourselves and then your crickets.
Logic.
I have no interest in debating someone who ignores whatever anyone says and ignores any proof provided because it doesn't fit his narrative.
I'll debate Raesone all day long, he's a solid dude who knows how to debate and always makes actual constructive criticism posts.
Until this year; he should take a break, he’s devolved into a condescending (j)erk

Okay, well I tried to be the bigger man by reaching out an olive branch even though we were both guilty of toxic behavior towards each other. That says more about you than it does about me. Either way it's fine, but I'll say one last time that I still don't see why you would think I that I run multiple accounts. I have never held back against anyone on this account and have always spoken my mind regardless of content, so I have no need for an alt account.

Why is this thread a thing? The OP has left out variables of the eqation.
Who was the pitcher? What pitch was being used? What speed was the pitches? Why were they all out of the zone low? This looks so staged to me as a poor attempt to claim foul offs are happening all the time. It obviously was vs CPU.
Yeah, because vs CPU gives you a pause timer. You big dummy, thank you for completely discrediting yourself so I don't have to.
Ok fair point with timer so it wasn't vs CPU.
But you still haven't explained why so many low and out of zone? If someone pitched crappy like that to me you bet your @ss i'm using contact. People like you who pitch like this is just as much of the problem with online gameplay as the people you are complaining about. Your lil screenshot shows there was a hit where in the zone was that?
Wait, what? "People like me who pitch like this are part of the problem"? Because you suck and chase every single pitch thrown in the dirt? Here I was thinking that was the whole goal of a pitcher in the game of baseball . Is it crazy hour at the asylum or something, who let all these people out?
This of course is not real baseball but, the same principals apply. @raesONE_PSN, you seem like a good dude, and I know there are many reasons why you might pitch this way to a hitter far less skilled, but to be frank, these are among the reasons many of us stay away from Online. I started playing BR last week and lasted 45 mins because nobody would throw the ball near the plate. If there was no lag, I might have had a small chance but I've only been playing this game a year (and it's the only video game I've played since Junior high), most of you would eat me alive. So I have 0 fun getting picked apart online...thus, I just won't play online.
I'll say this man, there is no shame in getting torn to bits by players who have been playing a lot longer than you have. When I started playing, I couldn't hit for my life and I practically lost every game I played. I didn't care. It actually gave me an incentive to practice and try to find ways to improve my game. And what I learned was to keep playing tons and tons of games against preferably players who are better than me helped me immensely. In my opinion that is the only way to get better. Now I do have to say that I did enjoy it in those days, even when I got hammered. Because the game was fair. Today, I don't think I could or would be willing to go through that because I feel like they killed the learning curve for reasons I have explained in this thread. But there are still many people who do enjoy it, and if you're on of them then I'd encourage you to keep playing online and don't focus on the results but on improving your game overall. Even if it would hypothetically come at the cost of 1000 losses.

I've been around for a long long time; except my main account has been suspended for a reason I don't know; not saying it's not deserved but I'd like to know what ToS rule I've broken.
Anyway, what I'm saying is you make valid points, sometimes people can disagree, but by making multiple threads about the same stuff, you get suckered into the name calling. You know who will respond, and what that response will be. Instead of just ignoring it, you invalidate everything you say by posing as the resident expert, pointing to your record and your years of playing. You ain't alone, pal.
Other than your satisfaction with the game, I don't know what changed in your life, if anything, but you're wasting all your goodwill by being condescending as soon as someone disagrees; whether a troll or a calm, contradictory observation. In all my years here, I've never seen you this aggressive. I don't know, block people, ignore them, interact with the people who don't give you grief.
Just your answer here, "that person deserved to be condescended to"; I mean, if you don't see the arrogance in that response...

So what was your user tag that got banned, maybe I do know you. Since you say you've been around for a while. There's no need to hide in anonymity, I'm not doing that either.
And I make these threads because I want to showcase the things that are fundamentally wrong with this game. I don't see that as a problem. I don't do it to start arguments with people and when people calmly disagree with me then I am perfectly able to have a solid debate about it. But when the people come in who start using rhetoric towards me, am I not allowed to defend myself and engage in that same rhetoric? And when people try to discredit me or my lack of knowledge/experience in their eyes, am I not allowed to point out their mistake by countering with my "accomplishments" (that sounds funny because it doesn't mean anything in real life, but for the sake of argument I'll use that word)? Now if I would start spewing them around for no reason at all and trying to make myself look good, then yes. You'd have a point. But that's not the case.
And lastly, thank you for your advice on how to handle these types of situations. I think you mean well, despite the arrogance accusations and all that, but I'll respectfully say that I'll handle things the way I prefer to handle them. Sometimes I do ignore, sometimes I do block. And sometimes I make someone eat dirt. -

Ideally you would be matched up with people even remotely close to your skill level. Those of us who swing at pitches like that are new, not good and trying to improve. Unfortunately the game has created it so you feel you have to stay that far out of the strike zone but for me, it completely makes me lose interest in the game. In real life, pitchers expand the strike zone at times by a few inches and of course they go for the kill when they have a rookie struggling. But for the most part,, they throw the ball over or near the plate. They are all matched against people reasonably close in skill level. Even a journeyman .200 hitting backup catcher can hit DeGrom once or twice. Even the Pirates can pull a win out on the Dodgers once in a blue moon.
This of course is not real baseball but, the same principals apply. @raesONE_PSN, you seem like a good dude, and I know there are many reasons why you might pitch this way to a hitter far less skilled, but to be frank, these are among the reasons many of us stay away from Online. And I get that you feel attacked on here and start throwing out the obvious "you suck and swing at every pitch," so I'll save you the time...I suck and swing at every pitch. I like to play my friends where we all try to stay somewhat near the strike zone and have a good competitive game. Otherwise I'm fine with CPU. If online ever becomes a better experience for new users without a decade of skill, maybe I'll try again.
And again, much of the problem is that players of great skill are matched against poor players, there is a certain amount of RNG that makes the good players have to really expose a bad players weaknesses. @Parradox-Cam_PSN, I absolutely never argued against that...I'm just imploring you to stop using that ridiculous cliche of Little Billy, it sounds like the Ratio guys on Twitter.
You are not alone! I'm a decade+ player and this type of pitching is trash.
It's one thing to throw something like this to get someone to swing but he was spamming it then blaming game for it getting fouled off. It was prolly obvious where he was going each pitch.
As far as being matched up against better players, when searching for opponent hold left stick to the left and it will stay within your ranking. Hope this helps!

This type of pitching is NOT trash. Put the guy in a corner by going 3-0, 2-0, 3-1 over and over again; he'll have to come in, or you walk. His confidence will be lower, and he'll end up hanging one.
New player should start in RS, using the slider to compete against themselves, until they figure out their level, what they need to work on and get better.

I get it. There is a certain group of people on here that do just that. They want "thier" threads to be the topic like it's some accomplishment. Very rarely do they discuss, it's generally "my way or the highway" type threads.
They will claim they are willing to debate but when you call out the bs they resort to "cry baby" method and post personal attacks and avoid valid points of discussion.

I had one yesterday it was something like 15 strait foul balls out of the zone. I said f it threw a change right down the middle he popped it up on the infield. I don’t have the zone but his timing was good and he had all of the ball in the PCI, in 21 it would have been a no doubter, in 22 pop up to the infield lol

That's a good mindset to have and I try to do that as well, but it's hard and gets increasingly frustrating with every game that it happens in. Which is almost all of them at this point, because everyone has figured this out and is abusing the hell out of it.
-
@aam34_psn said in How to tell you're gonna lose a game:
Agreed! It seems like every AB almost. I think the outer ring should shrink dramatically on pitches outside the zone. Maybe that would help, who knows. I play events a ton and the moonshot event tested my sanity.
True. I made my way through the moonshot event too, but there I had more patience with it because basically you have to use terrible pitching against the best hitters at this point in the game. It was annoying, but not super out of the ordinary given the circumstances. But this particular screenshot was in BR and my pitcher had high 80s H/9 and K/9 which at this point in the game cycle is pretty decent. Yet I could not get any of his guys out, including someone like Joey Gallo who has 0 contact and 0 vision. There's something fundamentally wrong with that.

It is and it makes me sad. But it does make me happy that more and more people are starting to realize just how bad it is. I had a review posted here 2 weeks ago, people were coming for my neck because they felt like I posted it too soon and my sample size wasn't big enough. But when you know, you know. Now I hear and see it everywhere and the streamers are slowly starting to transition as well. They try to hide it and force positive attitude, but they're only human as well and they can't hide their displeasure forever. And they're not thankfully.
