Ohtani in Fantasy draft franchise mode

How do you use Ohtani in franchise mode as a 2 way player? I’ve put him in the rotation as a number 2 pitcher because if I use him at 1 then he doesn’t show up in the lineup. But when it’s his day to pitch another player gets slotted in at DH and he’s unable to become a hitter.
