wait, what’s timing hitting and why is everyone complaining about it? coming from a classic zone hitter

Timing is just pure analog from previous years. They added the option to use the button swing, so they changed the name. As another forum user informed me, it's also the exact same as directional hitting when you don't choose a direction.

Why are people complaining about directional hitting? Because they have a conspiracy theory that states they are getting beat online because of this input type. They have no proof that their opponents are using it, and they have no proof that it works better than squaring up a ball with the PCI. But, it sure gives them a reason to complain about the game for no reason.

    It is obvious

You didn’t answer my question. You have zero proof. You are just assuming that they are using timing hitting.

I’ve been using it…you cheese your opponents to death with it….with bare minimum effort.

Interesting that they added Timing and removed opponents feedback at the same time.

No they didn’t!!! Timing/direction/pure analog whatever have been here for years, and feedback was removed last year, because 20 was a sh** show. Stop making stuff up

They’re unwilling to come out and say why they removed feedback so at this point I’m fine with making up reasons why they did so. They can solve this for us.. if they want to.

Why does it need to be a secret?

They gave a reason, you chose not to believe it; your prerogative. Move on.

We all know they won’t. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have anything else to do all day.

FWIW, pure analog from years past is not the same as timing this year. The major difference is that with pure analog you also had to direct the bat with the right stick. Meaning, if the pitch was on the inside and you wanted to pull it, you would have to push the right stick up and left (for a RH hitter). So timing was not the only component of it.

I can't tell you how many times I would have good timing on a outside pitch but roll over to SS because I didn't push the right stick towards RF. Because of the 'aim' mechanic, it caused the swing timing to be much more dynamic than it is in this years game. At least it feels that way. Now it doesn't matter which way you push the right stick as long as the timing is good. Really wish they would bring back pure analog; it was a very rewarding way to hit especially on higher difficulties.

Timing has ruined the game. People just swinging early blasting homeruns. Why would they implement this feature. No skill to win. It is so obvious when people are using timing. SDS what were you thinking

How is it obvious? I hit early balls out with zone… it’s called extension and swing plane…. Timing ruins it from the amount of fouls balls they get

Timing was 100000000000% there last year. Called directional, just like it is now...
