I’ve always bought the MLB The Show series since it pretty much came out. I however skipped a year and didn’t buy the ‘20 version. So decided to buy The Show ‘21 last year but it was so riddled with bugs, equipment not functioning correctly, and a screwed up archetype system in RTTS that I told myself I’d never buy MLB The Show again till 3-4 months down the road incase it had similar issues as last year.

But lately I’ve been wanting to play again and have been contemplated getting The Show ‘22. But I’m undecided as I’ve been keeping tabs on on this Forum every two days or so to see what issues are popping up. And if I’m being totally bourse, I don’t like a lot of what I’m reading. Now is this year’s game as bad as last “21 in terms of bugs, glitches, etc, to the point that I should maybe wait a bit to see if they iron out these issues..? Or is buying the game right now worth it..? I’ve been playing MLB The Show ‘19 the past 5-6 days since the actual MLB season started up. But I couldn’t bother touching ‘21 as it was bug ridden. Anyhow, I appreciate any insight you guys can offer.

I don't know man. You don't sound much like a fan, so maybe go find some other game that is launched without any bugs and glitches so you don't have to whine about it???

I’m not whining at all man. And why you had to be so disrespectful about my question wasn’t warranted. I simply asked if anyone knew if this year’s game had as many issues as last year’s. And I’m sure I’m not the one who thought this as well. Seen many people posted more negative comments than I. I’ve in no way bashed the game, so labelling me as no true fan is further then the truth.

I agree with every new game there’s bugs and glitches, I get lt. But when I’ve read that some can’t even play their second season for whatever unknown reason has me a bit concerned. New games aren’t cheap, and as consumers we have every right to know the ins and the outs about every game before we buy. So again, all I wanted to know was is if I should wait a bit before buying this year’s game till some of the bugs were ironed out. Or is what I’m reading not as bad as I’ve read..?

If you plan to mostly play offline then yes, so totally worth it. only major issue is with mini seasons sometimes counting wins as losses and a progression block in the playoffs( which isnt happening to everyone and some have stated no problems at all)
Online modes is probably the source of alot of the posts on here( but again a bunch of ppl dont seem to have any or many issues there either)

I’ve always just played RTTS, never really touch any other mode for the most part. Think I played franchise mode once in The Show ‘19 for a single season. But that was the extent of it really. RTTS has always been my favourite mode. Anyway, I really appreciate your feedback. Much appreciated.

If RTTS is your main mode it will come down to what you thought about the direction RTTS took in TS21.

If the podcast thing and two-way player option interests you and you’re not bothered by the limited attribute progression and card-based attribute increases then RTTS22 will probably be a good fit (apparently still a bit buggy though).

If you don’t want to give up the totally performance-based attribute progression then pick up TS20 which plays pretty well in RTTS.

I'd say just keep playing 21 it's the exact same game. Or get an Xbox and gamepass so you don't have to pay money to sds

This is a good way to look at it. For me, I played 20 and skipped 21. But took a chance on 22 and I like it. Took some getting used to, but it totally drew me into the game. I even tried DD, not to play online, but to get gear and I've picked up a lot of stuff I can use in RttS.

I think being able to switch archetypes is pretty gamey, however. Like one day, you can be a guy who crushes every at bat, but be unable to outrun a turtle, and the next you are Usain Bolt, but can't hit a barn with a Buick. I can live with it, but rather have the points system.

I'm wondering why you say it's kinda buggy though. I haven't seen any as far as I know. It runs super smooth on PS4 Pro and being on Pro has the added benefit of me being able to add about 600 of my own songs to play in the background.

My ballplayer (RTTS player) is a 99 beast, and I had fun making him in RTTS. I am going to make another at a different position. I have found RTTS more fun that I expected in '22.
