Why? Just close app after each game and you’ll be fine. I’ve done a couple now without issue.

Is it fixed for newbies who aren't stuck?
I'm sorry for those who already made it and got frozen out. They finally addressed that mini seasons would be their big priority next but didn't really explain what or when.

I am on ps4 and I played it all the way through twice since launch without any of the known issues popping up. I didnt want to press my luck and waste any time so I haven't played it since. It's really weird to me how some people have issues and others can play it just fine. Hoping they fix it sooner than later because I do enjoy the mode.

Going into the third week of the issue glad they are finally trying to fix it but it should've been resolved earlier. Its been known since day 1

It doesn't matter. You can play other modes or do whatever you want. Just make sure you restart app and go directly to mini seasons before playing your next game.
