Or just didnt know. But my TV dont lie. My LG OLed can track FPS while playing games. And I just happened to aquire an Xbox Series X and guess what? It plays up to 120 FPS!! The PS5 stays locked at 60 FPS. The Xbox has VRR and AMD Freesync available and fluctuated between 97 FPS and 120 FPS staying at over 110 FPS most of the time.
Now with that being said there isnt a huge difference between the two honestly. And while I like the Xbox control better it does have that little jitter while playing this game. No so bad for hitting but you definitely notice it PP pitching. Even analog is a little tougher.
But hopefully since The Show goes up to 120 FPS on Xbox when PS 5 finally gets VRR, which will be soon, they will unlock the framerate on there as well.

You're mistaken. The game frequently dips below 60fps on Series X and maxes out at 60fps.

PS5
Series X
Sorry for the wobbly film, had to use my phone to film the frame counter on TV.

He doesnt have 120FPS enabled. Most likely doesnt have a 120hz TV or Monitor.
If I drop it down to 60Hz in settings it will up the quality and of course cap out at 60 FPS. Ill do a video in a second.
-
Yeah I just tested it. Even dips when doing cut scenes and such. Ill upload a video in a bit.
-
I just hooked the Series X to a LG 32gp83b 1440p 165hz free sync premium / gsync monitor that has a built in fps counter and can confirm that if you disable 4k in the system settings and run a 1440p resolution at 120fps with vrr enabled the game will run at 120fps with dips into the low 80's during batter cut scenes.

Yes, I leave my Series X at 4K, but like I said I am sure it is just downscaling and still looks great. Is this something new?
I made a video of me changing 120 to 60 and got about the results of that one video you showed me.

Sorry, didnt know flipping my phone would do that lol, ooops

Ahh, you know why you cannot do 4K up to 120 hz on that monitor right? Well besides being a QHD monitor, no HDMI 2.1
-
Yeah, no hdmi 2.1 , it does accept a 4k signal though, and it internally down scales back to 1440p which I think is weird.

Yeah 2.1 isnt needed for 4K just for 4K over 60hz.
All in all this was a good find though. I had no idea.
-
Me either...

I have an XBox Series X connected to a Gigabyte M32U monitor. Runs the game at 4K HDR @ 120Hz over HDMI 2.1 and it looks great. Only dips under 120 (according to monitor's FPS counter) happen during cutscenes (e.g. batter in the box), but solid 120 Hz during actual gameplay.

I have a LG CX with a ps5 and series x. I’ve only played a few games of 21 on the Xbox due to PPP being a disaster so I’ve been playing 22 on the PS5. I may have to download 22 on the Xbox now. Is PPP still awful?

Yes, but others say you can use a third party control to fix the controller issues. Power A control or something like that works great.

I actually thought the hitting/timing was better on xbox for 21 than ps5. I may have to buy that controller and see if it fixes PPP

Especially if you have a TV/Monitor that can do 120Hz.

Not gonna lie I'm reading this thread like sure I know what they're talkong about.
I don't know what you're talking about. So here's my question: Should I be playing on my expensive 4k TV or cheap Standard Dell monitor I use for work?
I have series S and PS5, show on gamepass -
