Hitting is laughable and it doesn’t help while pitching if you’re off by the slightest it will gravitate to the middle of the strike zone.

Hitting was better a couple days ago. They changed somthing. People will fall out of their chairs to defend this saying they didn't nerf hitting, but it's obvious.
Idk why, but the cynical side of me sees all these "collect pxp" missions and thinks, maybe they nerfed hitting so we wouldn't blow through these challenges. But that's probably not it, as we were going to complete these fast anyway. Exit velo is way down, timing windows are smaller, etc. Christ your lucky to score 2 runs in a conquest game right now.
Its still doable obviously, but it does make the game more boring.
Edit: it's like this every year. Hitting is amazing at release and then a few people start complaining about how online play has too many homeruns (why that's a bad thing I'll never know) because god forbid you lose every once in a while, and then all of the sudden hitting sucks for everybody.

Last year I stopped playing after about six months, pretty standard length of time for a yearly release.
You can't score on conquest....so.....I'd focus on that, not what someone's opinion of MLB the show 21 was. that's just, creepy and you're throwing out that stalker vibe.

Yes, I'm playing the game right now. It's not difficult to score against the computer.

I dunno lately I've had people hitting bombs on me in pitches off the plate while many of my very well squared up swings die at the track. So I'm not really sure what to make of hitting right now. I like the idea of shrinking the pci on all-star and making PP pitching more difficult, and speeding up pitches a little.

Same for me. Last year was a cake walk. Now suddenly every ball I hit is right at someone. I didn't lose a single game last year vs CPU even on games on Legend and I've already lost one on Vet and AS because this b.s. I've had a dozen 4 or 5 inning conquest games this year too. They've really screwed up gameplay. It is pure trash right now.

I thought it was just me having a hard time scoring runs. I was having such a hard time today against Seattle! Seattle. Like Cmon! They def did change something.

Yeah hopefully they fix this. Way to much contact on pitches way below the zone. You aren't exaggerating, literally making contact with pitches in the dirt.

I think hitting is a lot more roll of the dice this year. I've seen more P/P swings go for outs and balls on the edge of the PCI go for homers this year than last. I remember SDS showing a .800 average for P/P swings last year. Definitely not the case this year.

I've said since early release day 1 that hitting on Rookie CPU is different this year. The CPU throws way more [censored] and way fewer cookies than last year.
I have no problem winning against the CPU, but it's not 20-0 like it was last year...

Agreed. Also, I’ve hit perfect on meter pitching and it goes outside the PAR a bunch of times. huge L on gameplay.

But I don’t necessarily agree that gameplay is an L.

This is by far the worst MLB game ever made. Could even be the worst game I have ever played. There is something wrong in every aspect of this game. It’s borderline criminal for them to put out a game this bad and charge money for it. SDS should be ashamed of themselves for taking money from the hard working people, especially during a time when inflation is at its peak.
