So I just so happened to purchase an Xbox series X today on a whim. Saw them for MSRP and couldn't resist. Even though I know Xbox has been kinda easy to find at MSRP if you look lately. Anyways I got it cuz I can make interest free payments and wanted to check it out. So...
My question is, where do I start? Let's just say I want to MLB TS 22 on series x. Do i need to purchase anything else? Obviously game pass since I only own the PS5 version. So I can play it off game pass. But is that all I need for online play? I am assuming my PS 5 progress would just carry over and vice versa right? I don't buy stubs so that won't be an issue on what platform I would have them.
Any help would be appreciated

Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Live, which you will need for Diamond Dynasty or any other online game. When I got my Series S last year you could purchase up to 3 years of Xbox Live Gold and convert to Game Pass Ultimate for $1. Three years of Game Pass Ultimate for $150-180 is a really good deal, so you should check to see if that conversion is still possible.
The controller it comes with is kind of wonky with pinpoint. I got a wired Power A controller for 30 bucks which works really well.
I actually just upgraded to a Series X myself last week since I saw one in a store for the first time. The Show looks great on it. I'm going to give my brother the Series S since he didn't have a next gen console yet.
Oh, and when you link accounts make sure you make the Playstation the primary so you don't temporarily lose your progress.

So I would need Xbox Live and Gamepass to play online?

Correct, and Game Pass Ultimate I believe is the two combined, plus I think you get access to Game Pass on PC which I never use. When I got the Series S last year I wasn't sure how much I would use it so I only got 2 years of Live which I converted to Game Pass Ultimate. If I could go back I would definitely do the 3 years.

Cool, thanks. Looks like CD Keys has a Game pass Ultimate for 3 Months 32 bucks. I might have to check that out.
I also have a couple older Xbox controls, one is from the Xbox One generation and one from 360. Do you know how they work on this game?

I've heard from other members of the forum that the Xbox One controllers work okay with pinpoint. You could give that a try first.
