Mookie Betts trade

I was really surprised by the outcome of the negotiations. It seems like the MLBPA got everything they wanted. According to MLB trade rumours, most players get a full year of service time regardless of what happens.
Hey, at least the Orioles' pitching staff has a chance to give up less home runs than they did last year

Nope. We got to watch two weeks of Spring Training. So, not nothing. And, the dodgers get to pay him a lot more money. Glass half full my friend.
Since we’re technically in a national emergency right now, I don’t believe players will be paid if we don’t have a season. It’ll come down to the decisions made about whether the season counts as a full year of service time or not.
The players union and MLB have already reached an agreement to pay players an emergency sum of money per player for the time missed until the season starts back up. Contrary to what the media may say this is going to be done and over with by May.
Huh? Over with by May? How do you know this? Lol
It hasn't even begun to peak yet for the USJust don't believe everything you read on the net and see on TV.

I saw that they get service time. Didn’t see about the pay.

the media is no doubt only speaking about worst-case scenarios and making people panic but at this point you have to ask yourself why is the government taking such extreme measures for something some say is just a flu. We will never get the full truth but at this time saying all of this will blow over by may seems off. I could be wrong i am no expert but I like gathering info from multiple places and coming up with a middle ground.

Here in the Netherlands the government is very up-front with their reasons for the (near-)lockdown: A lot of people will be infected regardless of the measures they take, but they're trying limit the number of people getting ill and needing care at the same time to stop hospitals from overflowing. To be honest, it works pretty well so far as long as people oblige to the rules. Germany has even stricter rules in place and the number of new infections per day there is staggeringly low for such a contagious virus.
In my view the main reason why this pandemic is taken so seriously is that we currently don't know exactly how to handle the virus. Give it a few years and i'm positive that there will be a way of curing even the most vulnerable groups.

I wonder if opening pitch may be by Easter. I believe, same as you, that they find a way to get in most games.

everything you said makes sense and I too believe this is all an effort to not overflow hospitals like has happened in Spain and Italy hopefully, this ends sooner than later and we can go back to arguing baseball

You're right!! I should believe some random poster on an internet forum about a baseball video game. Seems like a much more reliable source.
