Why I criticize this game
-
In my line of work, you fail means you fail. Your not rewarded until your successful which means you try and try until you get it right.
I carry that mentality when I come home and get on this game.
It frustrates me to see my opponent be rewarded for failing, and myself, I don’t want the game to hold my hand. The hitting in this game does exactly that. It comes down to many things from retaining players to game sales, online gaming is huge business and there’s lots of money to be made if your game is setup the right way.
With all that being said, I’m turning a new page and accepting it. Many many suggestions/ideas along with tough criticism have been brought forward to the people responsible for this game, some of those have been implemented. With minimal changes over the years towards the hitting design it’s apparent they’re content with what it is and that seems to be the near future as well. I enjoy this game at times and want to throw it away at times, at the end of the day it’s the only game I’ve consistently played for years and despite its flaws I’ll keep playing….and accepting the flaws and randomness throughout the gameplay. The content has always been top notch.
I’ve also been critical towards other people and I apologize for that. I tried to never insult anyone but if you took my criticism as an insult…again, my apologies. Here’s to a new year and hope everyone achieves your goals. Have fun.

Considering that at least two-thirds of the time you fail at the plate in real life (if you're exceptional), that's probably a good attitude to take into it.

Yeah, I was referring to when you fail at the plate in this game (at times) you are rewarded (non PCI hits). Just going to accept that as they’re design for the game.

People need to stop trying to compare their 9-5 job to professional sports. There is nothing similar except that you get paid for doing a job.

Pretty much. Also this guy is of the belief that if his “stick skills” are perfect, then he should automatically get a hit every time and nothing else should factor. That’s ridiculous but he’ll just keep repeating the same mantra.

I used to think he wanted football scores but now I'm thinking basketball.

That's not a 9-5 job. Just stop. You have some of the worst takes on these forums I've seen out of anyone.

What do you classify as a 9-5 job?

What do you classify as a 9-5 job?
A regular job that you go to at least 5 days a week where you punch in and punch out.
In professional sports you have practices, games, press conferences, signings and tons of other obligations. You are not comparable to a professional athlete. -

You know the answer to this but you’ll be obtuse and act like you don’t.

Ok I'm done playing your stupid little game. You clearly think a lot of yourself but you are just a normal nobody like the rest of us so get over yourself. If you are not a professional athlete and I'm pretty sure you're not then you can not compare your job to one, period. Someone clearly never got punched in the face as a kid and it shows.

8 hours a day, 5 days a week. It is pretty simple. Some people may have to work overtime or be on call.
-
I use to carry that mentality, and still do to a degree. (Not towards the game, but work)
But it's honestly a very toxic mentality, and not just towards other people, but to myself/yourself to.
-
This is post is eerily reminiscent of a certain multi account poster Am I right @jonblaze2424_PSN and @TEXAS10PT_PSN ?
Come on man, don't take yourself so seriously.
-
The nature of work has changed and is highly flexible. Ballplayers wake up at 12, workout, take a nap, show up at the ballpark 3 hours before the game, meet with press, warmup, play a 3 hour game, meet with press again, fly to the next city, in bed at 4 am. And this is 7 days a week for 7 months. Off-seasons can involve business deals, training, and even winter leagues.
I get up 5 minutes before work and sign into work at 8:30 in my underwear. I then proceed to work, drink coffee, and post on these forums until I sign off at 5:00.
Who has the real “9-5 job”?
And if you don’t like your situation, change it. I assume you live in a free country.
-
The OP takes this game way too seriously. It’s a game. If a person needs to compare it to a job or treat it like a job, they need to find a new hobby. I already have a full time career, I don’t need a second job playing a video game that I’m not getting paid to play. If it felt that way, I’d delete off my system if my wife didn’t already do it for me. There are too many other things in life to worked up about and a video game is not even in my top 100. Heck, I’m more worried about my dress pants still fitting after two years of not having to wear them due to working from home.
