Faces of the Franchise Return
-
I'm torn on the Faces of the Franchise leak that came out today. They showed a 90 overall Acuna. Assuming his live series is in the 90-92 range the card won't be as useful if you get the live series. But I do like actually using the Face of the Franchise for the card. And if you don't want or can't spend 200k stubs to play with your favorite player this is a cool option. Overall I'm intrigued but would still rather a flashback card of that player that has an accurate overall to where they want it to be. 2018 breakout Acuna at 90 overall would be cooler in my opinion.

Doesn't seem likely at all. This will most likely be Team Affinity season 1.
-
Maybe they are part of the 1st inning reward path as a way to stretch it out further in terms of xp.
-
“1st Featured Program” is definitely an interesting turn of phrase.
-
They say both team affinity and featured program in this video so I'm definitely confused. These can't be replacing inning programs because the kansas city royals aren't going to have 9-10 cards in this style without getting 4 each of Perez and Brett. I'm just wondering if this doesn't mean that team affinity is just time locked and you can't do previous ones after the next stage comes out
-
I’m ok with this. At the start of the year we have most people attempting to piece together a team with players they want to see and use while others scramble to complete the expensive LS collections.
The LS collections are a huge part of the game, but lowering demand slightly for hard to obtain cards reduces the price point for collections while increasing the fun factor for others.
Tempering the price point (even slightly) for 90+ LS cards is a W for the community.
-
I would venture to guess that the TA rewards will now be sellable so there could be alot more stubs at stake here and investment options especially if tied to a collection
-
Video states Team Affinity AND Timed.
So if these are part of the rewards for the first part of TA and it is timed then that means once the second stage drops you can't earn these by playing. Which means that they have to be sellable or everyone that starts late won't be able to obtain these.
Unless they treat them like Inning henchmen and open up all the past TA stages at the end like they did previously.

This seems like the most likely option to me.

Maybe there is something else that will live in the go at your own pace world now.
For example now we're TA use to be is a series affinity where there are goals and rewards for using the different series cards. These programs are added as time goes one based on what's available so to start FoTF and Rookie series is first cause has the most, Vet and All Star added 3 or 4 weeks into the game and they just live there in game.

Not even remotely sure how this will be handled but now that they are dropping content hints, I'm excited.
Anyone see the Anime Rickey Henderson on the website in the diamond legends pack?

I think it was in 20 that they first introduced FOTF. They were TA 1 rewards. But once TA 2 started; TA 1 was locked. If you didn't get to the end of it you weren't able to do such until the end of the year when they unlocked it.
The players from TA 1 and 2 weren't sellable. When they dropped TA 3; they had LOTF cards which were legends with the same design. Those were sellable.
This year was the first time they allowed any of the previous stage(s) of TA to still be obtainable when the new stage was released.
I'm assuming they're doing back to the old format where you have to get those players before the next stage starts or you'll have to wait until they set it up like they did with the 11th Inning Program.

You got it wrong. In 20 you couldn't start TA2 until TA 1 was completed. The later ones were locked until you got the earlier ones first.

Gotcha, he did say there's a twist which makes sense now that I know this program has happened before. I was thinking "how would we know theres a twist when nobody knows what the program is?"
So I'm guessing it's the familiar program but with a fresh coat of paint.

I like this card art a lot better than the FotF in 20. And I think this will have a very interesting effect on the LS market. I can't imagine many people shelling out 100K for LS Acuna when they can presumably get this for free.
I liked getting 5 stages of TA last year, but they need to pump the brakes. To paraphrase Gandalf, "there is only one TA7... and he does not share power."

Yes. That was it. I was wrong. I knew it was different than this year's TA path.

I think it was more how good the cards were. TA pretty much replaced my entire team ever time it came out. 30 FS all being the top cards gets old, save those and throw in another set before hand or something. AS cards was a nice way to give cards to lesser players but again it took over my entire squad. I agree with the breaks needing a few pumps along the way.
