The strike zone!
-
If the ball crosses any part of the strike zone, it’s a strike. There are times when nearly half the ball is in the zone and it’s still called a ball. How hard is this to get right? This should be the most basic thing to get right. It makes me hate pitching.

If you look closely, the strike zone box graphic actually extends past the plate and is slightly expanded vertically as well.
Have you ever watched a MLB game on TV? It appears to be quite difficult to get the calling of balls and strikes correct 100% of the time. This link shows that there was 34,294 bad calls by the MLB home plate umpires in calling balls and strikes. Or if you track UmpScorecards on Twitter, you can see how many each MLB umpire misses calls each game.
If this makes you hate pitching, maybe you should only play co-op next year where you don't have to pitch every inning???
