Your "way too early" plans for MLB 22
-
I started playing MLB in 2009, started DD in mid 2020, and a full year of DD in 21. I played a ton as I was working from home. I have every card in the game (yes, even "that" one). For 22, I simply won't be able to play as much, which is a good thing. I'm going to focus the things I like.
Offline - everything! I'm a masochist that enjoys Moments. Conquest is fun. Topps Now (or whatever it will be), Monthly Awards, Showdown... All of it.
Online:
Ranked:. I think I'm giving this up. I'm just not good enough once I get into the 700's, and that's OK. It's just too frustrating for me. "Know thyself".
Events: Depends on the event. If they "feel good", I'll play them.
BR:. With the changes they made in 21, I love this mode. I'll play it throughout the year.
I've been playing the Tech Test, and I'm enjoying it. Loving the PCI anchor so far. Co-op seems fun if they can get it to work right. Looking forward to April 1.
P.S. if Tim Anderson doesn't go Diamond this year, I will auction off my PS5 to the forum.

I really like ranked seasons and my hope is they take this opportunity to restore ranked to what it used to be. I’m so over the comeback logic and outlier and the totally boring HOF gameplay…hope this mode evolves and it’s fun again.
Offline stuff I will do but reluctantly just to get the cards.
Events- yes, all day every day. I like the variety and using different cards and it’s something to chase.
BR- I may dive into this more in 22. I never really focused on it but I enjoy using silvers, bronzes, etc..
Online co-op- no thanks
Franchise/MTO- yes because I love baseball and I love the Phillies and it’s fun to play with them in these modes
-
I am going to try and play more BR this year, always play a ton of events.
My ranked play went down dramatically vs the last several years and may continue to do so, I just don't have fun on HoF, even when I win.
Offline is ok, I don't really enjoy 80% of it and just do it for the rewards

I have every card in the game (yes, even "that" one).
Jhonathan Diaz?!?

Completely agree about RS, but for me it's because a 9 inning game is sooo mentally exhausting. I enjoyed BR and events far more than ranked in 21.

What do you like so much about the PCI anchor, @arvcpa_PSN?
I did some BP with it, but only for a few minutes. -

Him, and rhymes with Palomar.

I did some BP with it, but only for a few minutes.I always start my pci up in the zone, but the anchor starts it there. We'll see if I still like it after a few weeks...

Hahahaha, good call. I know my "even that card" is Alomar. Which I don't have.
Good post. This will be my 2nd year playing DD. And last year I got a late start and had no idea what I was doing. So I basically went in blind. This will be fun to start with a clean state and actually know how to play.
If Team Affinity season 1 is available at the beginning, I'll focus on that and conquests, but like OP, I'll do everything offline, and I've learned to like BR a lot so I'll definitely play that from the beginning. I will try RS and Events this year as well.

Check all of the Team Collection Rewards and plan accordingly. Last year finished Marlins day one for Dee Strange-Gordon. Still hitting over .340 with him.
Probably my favorite card of the year.

Oh that's a good idea. Did you just buy all the live series cards for the Marlins on day 1? I didn't learn how to flip cards, use buy and sell orders or really anything about the market so it took me a while to complete any of the LS collection. It would be good to plan this out early on.

I drop mine a lot. It's a major problem, so I hope it helps.

Is it too early to bid?

My ‘way too early’ plan (devised last April) is that for the first time since 2010 I’ve planned to not buy The Show 22 as soon as I can and will instead wait to see whether it’s worth getting.
