Fielding after pitching.

I've had this problem in the show 21 so don't know if this will be fixed.

Sometimes when I throw a pitch with pinpoint, I hold the right stick down for just too long and the fielder I get assigned to will either dive for the ball or jump in place. This causes my fielder to either miss the ball completely or just get to a flyball. Is there some sort of delay you can be put on? In last year's game, I lost a few close games due to that (and just being a bad hitter in general).
