Playing on Xbox Series S with base controller. Previously played 20 & 21 on PS4. Noticed with 21 on Xbox and now 22 that pinpoint pitching and the PCI are buggy/glitchy. Pinpoint is almost unusable - skips as you “draw” each pitch then cuts out half of the final flick down, perfects are sometimes just impossible. The PCI isn’t as bad but I notice a similar skipping/lag so it seems like the issues are related to the right stick. Overall lack of smooth motion hurts both pinpoint and PCI usability.

Revert your controller's firmware to factory settings. Takes less than a minute. The ability to do so is in the xbox software. Just have to Google how.

I can confirm all of this is happening to me too both in 21 and 22 tech test. It's a real bummer that I have to revert firmware to fix it

Might be missing something but I don’t think it’s possible to rollback firmware on Series controllers, just One controllers. Could be doing something wrong tho

So I just spent way too much time on this, and you are correct. I'm not able to roll back the firmware on xbox series s with the series x|s controller. It just says I'm up to date, and there's no other options. Bummer. I also tried wiring the controller to the console. Slightly better results, but not quite perfect

Just follow the steps in this youtube; the revert setting is hidden within the Faqs, but it is there:

Ignore the xbox one in the title, you can see he's using an xbox series s in the video, and I've reverted several Series x/s controllers' firmware without an issue.

Watched the entire YouTube video again
and I tried it again on two of my controllers. Both did not work. I also tried plugging in before and after checking the firmware just to make sure. I uploaded one of my attempts linked below so you're welcome to tell me what I'm not doing correctly. If you look at the YouTube comments of the original video there are others that are having the exact same issue.

Here is a discussion on Microsoft's official support page, and it seems that many people have been able to revert their controllers as I have been able to to do--I just upgraded and downgraded 2 of my series x/s controllers a few minutes ago without any issues--and many others are having trouble like you. Perhaps there is an issue with the xbox assist app; not sure. I am using an Elite series 2 controller as my primary controller, so I'm not sure if that is affecting the process of not.

I mean I'm happy for those people who could roll back, but that doesn't help people in my situation. I don't care if it's Microsoft or SDS. The bottom line is I can't reliably play the Show on xbox, and I shouldn't have to rely on some niche thing that only works in some instances in order to play reliability. Figure it out!
