Is 1st inning 300 Duke Snider good choice?
-
Hi. I currently have Matt Chapman (85 Diamond 3B) on 1st base, Curtis Granderson (85 Diamond CF) in CF and Justin Verlander (90 Diamond SP) and John Smoltz (88 Diamond SP) as my two best SP. Is Duke Snider good choice at 300 1st inning stars? My reasoning is I will move Granderson to LF (where I have gold player) and put Snider to CF. Have two good SP already and I feel that I can live with Chapman on 1st since Todd Helton does not have as much power as I would have liked from possible 94 prestiged diamond.

Duke is a monster vs rightys, but absolutely worthless vs lefties. You can’t ever have too many good pitchers, and IMO Oswalt is better than both the pitchers you mentioned. I have all three of the bosses, and while Duke is the most likely to stay on my team the longest as my go to pinch hitter, id go with Oswalt or sell the most expensive

So maybe get Oswalt and buy Snider (ot the other way round based on who is cheaper) and dont worry about Helton?

If you want the 75 points for the next inning you will have to buy all 3 anyway, but Helton and Duke will get better cards along the way, just dont know when. Helton still isnt too bad, but there already are and will be more 1B options that are better than this version of him. Unless you are a rockies fan or want the voucher for the 2nd inning, Helton isnt worth it

My personal opinion is the best way to put together a good squad (that is if you don't spend $1k or play the market for 5 hours a day) is to get SP, RP and middle of field (C, SS, 2B, CF).
I did conquest for Mays in CF.
Rodriguez for player programs. This was pretty easy and had him in a few hours. When you need C HR's, just load up 4-5 C (hit them at the beginning) and play against the cpu. Baltimore on Rookie. Once you get past your C's hitting. Quit and restart until you hit the HR's necessary.
Did the Correa and Torres showdowns.
Took Smoltz and Glavine out of those packs early.
Did the Ohtani and Snell showdowns.
Will be taking either Kluber or Newhouser for that pack.
I think Oswalt is the best option for the 1st inning program. You need 5 good sp's. OF's and 1st baseman are plentiful. -
Got stubs only to buy one of them and based of your answers I will get Oswalt and maybe buy Snider, dont know about that yet. You are right that I can get good CF or 1B though affinities

I just used stubs to grab all three of them (earned the stubs, didn't buy) because I want the +75 program points for 2nd inning.

Oswalt is the filth

Okay so one last question. What about selling Matt Chapman, replace him with Helton and use the stubs to buy all three players?

Not a bad idea. I know there are some people that rake with chapman, but he really doesnt do much for me besides for the A’s collection. Id only do it if you want the 75 stars though. Otherwise your time and stubs are better used toward bastically any of the face of the franchise cards that can play 1st. Olson and Gallo are gods and Rizzo and Seager, and Santana play 1st as well, as they are just as good or better than Helton IMO

Thanks for your help. 75 stars is nice boost since I dont have so much time to grind. I wonder if that boost will be available after 2nd inning will be released, so I know if I want to spend stubs for the boost or rather for some of the second inning player

Last year the boost was available forever.

If you have the available stubs you can pick up the ones you don't have around 33k, and lock them in for 75 stars to the 2nd inning program. Once second inning releases those prices are going to sky rocket

Oswalt is the worst starting pitcher in the game.

I went with Oswalt because there are better 1B than Helton and the outfield is usually loaded by the end of the year, so I figured Oswalt would probably stay on my squad the longest. I also think that it's easier to get Oswalt to Prestige than Helton and Snider
-
I had an all diamond squad before picking them but I first selected oswalt and then bought Helton and Snider. I have played about 5 ranked games on hof. Oswalt is pretty consistent and reliable and second to kluber. Helton is a nice hitter that hits a solid line drive most at bats, no homers yet tho. Snider has a couple homers for me but that’s about it for him it’s either all or nothing. Hope this helps
