Feedback: Good and Bad for Devs - Switch OLED
-
Play Vs CPU appears to be working now.

Playing vs CPU Docked with 1080p Monitor.
Framerate is consistent 30FPS.
Feels like PS2/PSP graphics still. -
The meter pitching has some bad latency. I have the game preordered for the Switch, but I may have to reconsider. It is borderline unplayable.
I tried it in a DD test run; and then again in offline practice mode to make sure it wasn’t some sort of internet lag. The latency is present in both modes.
The meter doesn’t register that I am holding the pitch button and then letting go and reading the button again before hitting the line. It’s reacts as if I either just held the button down and didn’t let go, or just didn’t press anything. It wasn’t happening with every pitch, but it happened consistently enough that it became frustrating. Oof. Really hope that gets resolved.

@InFaM0uS_J2_PSN I don't think I've had issues with latency, my timing might just be off but because of the button mixup I feel like clicking the button doesn't always register because the main select button can be used along with the individual pitch button.

Played a few more games, I think I'm getting used to the frame rates, they aren't terrible. Sometimes my players don't throw the balls even though I pressed the button and sometimes the catcher throws to random bases after a pitch. I am almost positive I did not press the button for that.
Hitting seems difficult because of the framerate. I am trying to get used to it but I strike out a lot. Went to rookie and still barely making contact, I either swing too late or too early.
The text on cards will definitely need to be improved in handheld mode.
Most static graphics are displaying fine.
So far this is a hard sell at $60. If this comes out on xCloud again, you could just pay the $15 a month and have a much better experience since you'd have to get used to the latency for pitching and hitting anyways. -
I would say the frame rate is terrible, unacceptable and atrocious. I can’t understand a company even putting a tech test like this out to the general public. I am docked on a regular Switch with my gaming monitor. Monitor says it is a consistent 60 fps, but it just can’t be possible. I can’t remember a game that played like this in probably two decades. This is a vs CPU game and I wouldn’t even want to try and play online.
Have also tested on Series S and PS5 and both of them do not have these issues. Granted they are “Next Gen”, but there is no way PS4 or XBOX One is playing like the Switch is.

The Switch can get to 60 FPS, but not on a game like MLB The Show. To a TV/Monitor the Switch caps at 1080p and 720p handheld. Frame rates won't matter much when visually were used to seeing better quality other consoles.
This is the fundamental difference between games that are developed for the Switch (Mario Kart) and games that are ported (MLB The Show).
It honestly feels like the pick up and play stuff they wanted to do with PS Vita back in the day.
-
Massive drop in frame rates sometimes when a wild pitch is thrown and the catcher has to retrieve the ball.
I honestly like picking it up and playing it on handheld. If we can get 30fps lock and better text smoothing it would be better. -
So far so good with match making. Can find casual games pretty easily and quickly
-
Frame rate / graphics issue: hit ball to right Center field but couldn’t tell if it dropped or opponent caught it. I thought the latter so I held the runners but it did drop.
