Yeah, I thik if you can complete a few programs or even just parts of them, you can get a decent enough team.
Although, without the Monthly and Topps Now cards because we are more than likely looking at a strike/lockout, I'm not sure how they make up for those programs and cards.
We still got Monthly cards when season started late in 2020, they were flashback monthly from previous years. TN we will probably not have. We could see more Prospect and FS cards depending how long the lockout last.

If you're rich, and in a hurry, spend as you want, but as many here have said, you can spend $0.
I think I bought stubs once, early in the '21 season, but only once.
If you're talking spending those stubs, then it's up to you as well. -

We might see programs like the players league in 2020, or maybe flashback moments and flashback monthly awards like Bellinger/Blackmon/Josh Bell.
Oh that's cool. I'm of course hoping these clowns will realize how incredibly stupid it would be to cancel part of all of the season....but I'm starting to wonder if they even care.
What was the players league in 2020?
And also, OP, would you be playing games regularly, just not grinding moments and conquests, or are you really just looking to buy a team and play the occasional online game?
Players league was a tournament that SDS held for some of the actual MLB players that play the show and wern't playing because of covid (Obviously), the final 8 got cards for themselves and the general public (Us) got a 95 Blake Snell, 90 Lucus Giolito, 88 Jeff McNeil, 88 Ian Happ, 86 Joey Gallo, 86 Bo Bichette, 85 Gavin Lux and a 85 Dwight Smith.
Blake Snell won the tournament.
The program came with moments for each player.

This lockout is important for the future of Baseball. I agree on a lot of the stuff that the players want. The owners are trying but the players are not meeting them half way. It does suck. Baseball commissioner enough said.

If you don't have the time to grind...how you gonna have the time to be competitive?

60-100$ on packs and use them on TA affinity exchanges will have you a great team all year.
0$ is accurate when they forget to mention the 5,000 hours they put in and the additional 5,000 on the market while at work, home, on the toilet, while at the kids game, while at the real game, on the way home from the real game, on the phone while playing the video game, all that important stuff.

If you're willing to grind it out a little bit then zero. Tons of quality players that are free. Even through the 11th inning program you'd get 11 quality players just from that and not including TA and tons of free packs that will help with LS collection.

Trout at one time or another depending where he is in the market will cost you $300 in real money to buy stubs to get him.
-
If you have the time keeping up on the best cards in the game is easy
